Bio
Charles Atkins, Jr., or, "Mission: X(rossOver)," serves as a prison chaplain at a correctional facility for young adults in New Jersey. He uses sermons, songs and seminars to inspire the incarcerated to gain holistic health and to find a new name according to their life purpose. He also assists former inmates and their families form an alliance with those agencies and/or agents who are willing to work toward their empowerment.
He has joined the New Name Alliance for Motivation and Education (New NAME) -- a network of God-centered people with educational and artistic gifts that seeks to encourage and empower the incarcerated, their families and those who confront a constant state of crisis within the prisons of their minds and circumstances. New NAME uses sermons, speeches, seminars, motivational art, creative worship services and innovative faith-based mentoring programs in order to teach methods of incarnating spiritual principles in practical ways.
The Alliance asks the impoverished and incarcerated, Who has God called you to be? What is your new name of purpose? New NAME helps people respond to these important questions by producing: one-time inspirational events; and teaching techniques for self-development over time through original reference materials, programs and activities. One product of our endeavors is the New Message Series. The second of our titles from the series is Get Brand New, which uses hip-hop language and music to inspire the listener to move toward self-development and God-centered purposepurpose, and peace, for the body, mind, soul and spirit.
