Toronto by way of Montreal rapper Patrik has shared "StayLone," a quick follow-up to his promising "Entitled." While under 2 minutes in length, the track takes its time getting off the ground, as ominous synths set the crawling pace of the song before Patrik enters with a slowly building hook that matches the slow burn of the instrumental. There's only time for one verse, but his understated confidence makes for a unique and charismatic performance that will ensure you're tuned in to each every word. Once the hook returns, it's ingrained in your head for good. In other words, he makes the most out of the short runtime.Patrik is currently preparing a new project called Spadina, a name which any Toronto resident will recognize instantly as a street and subway station that lies at the city's center. If you missed it, you can watch the video for Patrik's "Entitled," which is also expected to appear on the project, here.
Quotable Lyrics:
Mirror, mirror, mirror on the wall
I wrote this on message boards
How charming would I be
If I told you that less is more?

Canadian rapper Patrik recently premiered the visuals for his single "Lone."
Earlier this year, the artist explained that the song was about "accepting isolation in order to confront the overwhelming thoughts" he experienced. He went on to reveal that one of the main messages behind the song was one that he felt would resonate with audiences from all walks of life. "You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”
The black and white video compliments the eerie and emotive feel of the track, inviting viewers to take the plunge as the song and accompanying visuals explore new depths. - Hot New Hip Hop

Patrik hails originally from Montreal but he reps Toronto hard. His upcoming EP is called Spadina, and he brings a bit of funky Montreal swagger to his melodic croon, which recalls Jazz Cartier or Kid Cudi. The young rapper says Lone is about "accepting isolation in order to confront the overwhelming thoughts I have." Along with the similarly head-turning Entitled from earlier this year, the track makes Patrik someone you should be paying attention to. - Now Magazine
Canadian emcee, Patrik, has been steadily making waves in the scene for a minute now thanks to some real sonic eclecticism. If you haven't been keeping up, the Toronto-via-Montreal talent recently dropped his latest offering Spadina, and you should peep it now on all major streaming platforms.
But aside from the aforementioned project, Patrik has been on a real tear this year, blessing fans with singles and music videos for standout tracks "StayLone"and "Entitled". Now, and because the man just doesn't stop, we're getting a visual treatment for yet another tune.
Yesterday, Patrik debuted uploaded a video accompanying his introspective banger "Lone". The track, which came out this past March, has the rapper spitting mystic lines about Judas, isolation, and nodding in the clouds. Naturally, the Sava Terehoff-directed take on the song lives up to its psychedelic theme, and sees Patrik trip through an astral wormhole. You can check it all out above via YouTube and be sure to stream Spadina below via Apple Music. - Complex

Our Song of the Day is the latest video from bilingual Toronto-based up-and-comer, Patrik.
The Retro-produced “Lone” single was originally released in March 2018, and received visual support towards the end of November. The X10 Entertainment rapper, who also spends time in Montréal, had actually released his 6-track EP, Spadina, just a couple of days before that, but “Lone” is a standalone single not featured on the project.
The next single expected to receive visual support off the Spadina EP is the bubbling “Diamonds” single produced by Lucid Soundz.
We were fortunate enough to get a sneak preview of “Diamonds” and have no doubt his fanbase is going to eat it up.
The Spadina EP chronicles the lessons and moments Patrik has experienced growing up in Toronto, as he waxes poetic on wisdom and storytelling. Core topics and themes include materialism (“Diamonds“), family (English/French track, “Dear Mama Too”), faith (“Free BB”), choices, personal growth and the creative process, and notable landmarks of significance to both Patrik and the city (“Bay St. Interlude,” and “Speaker’s Corner”).
You can find “Lone” on various streaming outlets including Apple Music and Spotify. Make sure you also check out the Spadina EP available - Hip Hop Canada
