Wild iLL

Although born in Minneapolis Minnesota, Wild iLL took up residence in the Midwest at a homestead in Rockford iLLinois sometime after the turn of the century. After dropping out of high school he began to hone his craft of breakneck speed and masterful lyricism. Ever present in the local panorama that was becoming Rockford hip hop, Wild iLL started releasing tracks and performing with his conglomerate of friends and associates which make up the now prominent crew Covert Empire. His knuckle cracking lifestyle always kept him on the run from something or someone, whether it was the police, or from his own destructive nature. After performing shows all around the Midwest, Wild iLL recently completed his new album At Sixes and Sevens at Wes Restless Studios Chicago which is guaranteed to shake things up all while producing haters and lovers in its sonic wake. Departing from his obsession with perfection, speed, and technical merit, Wild iLL takes a more simple approach. While the production is far better (Kentron) and the recordings and mixes are much better (Wes Restless) the lyrics are somewhat stripped down. At times the record is honest and at others it is boisterous and sarcastic. Either way, its good and it's different.
