Audiovox is dead. Long live White Girl. The Martin Bush-fronted project recently changed pretty much everything about itself. The first thing you'll notice is that drummer Brad Chancellor has left the act, and it's now a three-piece, with Marc Pepperman (Republic Tigers) and Nick Organ (Beautiful Bodies). The sound is different now, as well. Bush describes White Girl as "Audiovox minus the rock," adding that it's "all dance party now."
"We are just no longer trying to straddle the line between rock and pop," Bush continues. "No more half-measures. A couple of the songs we are playing were originally written for Audiovox but never released. Otherwise, it's a whole new schtick. Also, we are doing a bunch of really cool video/projection stuff now. The live show should be pretty fun."
The revamped/renamed band plays July 9 at the Riot Room with Heroes & Villains and Luster. If you can't wait until then to hear the band's new sound, you can stream a brand-new track from the revamped group, entitled "Baby, I Just Gotta Rock" at their Reverbnation page. - Pitch Weekly

White Girl is the brain-child of Martin Bush, a dance infused pop romp through eternal fields of post punk grasses and rolling new wave hills. He is joined by Skyler McClun, Nick Organ (Sundiver, Beautiful Bodies, Various Blonde), and Matt Epstein(Mr. History, Futurekings).
