Whiskey Bravo was formed in 2005 by Judd Shultz(bass), Aaron Hinds (vox&lyrics), Shane Dever(guitar), & Mike Cirillo(drums), as an effort to put out some bad ass music.
Four different life experiences, each with a rough go at it, pool creative power to produce an edgy take on modern existence and the human condition. Our influence is life. We can spend the rest of this essay naming bands that have impacted our lives, but life is the main issue, and must be reflected in the artists art, not shades of prior practitioners.
However we do understand listing some influences dose help people see aspects of how an original sound is developed. Judd"s influences range from radiohead to steally dan, Aaron's from rage to america, Mike's ranges from the band, to malty crew , to the roots u name it, finally Shane(a highly accomplished guitarist) hails from the school of big rock sounds like motor head, kiss and UFO, Shane also is a student of the classics, his favorites being Bach and Vivlaldi.
What sets Whiskey Bravo apart is a ballsy blind of old school story telling, soaring guitar parts, and funky arrangements, with a street cred that can only be earned by paying years of dues in nyc. Inspiration for songs range from spiritual matters to historical figures. From smuggling drugs, to the effects of them. From political anger to tender country songs. From girls to cosmonauts, we run the gambit.
our story is one of a synregic force that brought four guys from the corners of America together in NYC to make music.
the years have been tough, but fulfilling. its hard enough to live in new york and keep a band together, much less have know one in the band who is a particularly good promoter.
we are all kinda cagy, (but friendly!) characters, slowly climbing the epic PR mountain, that all bands must summit or parish.
Judd is from Oregon, coming to the city the pursue acting, but the music called. Mike is from Queens, and a family of musical geniuses, and as been drumming sense birth. Shane is from Vermont and is another one of those music kids, in that
once someone put a guitar in his hands, he could make it sing. Relentless practice has made big Shane the guitarist's guitarist. Aaron is from Texas, and moved to nyc to pursue a life of artist expression. A trained designer and painter, Aaron never thought he'd be singing in a rock band. randomly Aaron started writing song lyrics, finding that, "lyrics are the inverse of visual art, where a picture tells a story in the viewers head. Lyrics painting a picture inside the listeners head." After a drunkin jam to close down our local bar Judd and Aaron decided to start a band and here we are.
