Think if My Chemical Romance played modern rock instead or if AFI were a lot heavier, why not throw in a little Skillet in the mix and you'll get When Gotham Falls from Baltimore, USA.
It's been a year of hard work for this band that formed in 2007 and a year later releases their debut album "Vol.1 A hero will rise", you can't tell by their sound and musicianship that the band is only a year old.
They write music like they have been around for a decade and I'm also impressed how tight they sound, we're not talking low budget production here either - the riffs are full of muscles and the choruses are as big as skyscrapers.
There are plenty of great tracks here but my faves are "Zero", "California" and "Death by romance". - Melodic.net

Bio
When Gotham Falls emerged from Baltimore, Maryland in the Fall of 2007. With strong vocals, heavy yet melodic guitar riffs, a solid rhythm section, and an extremely intense stage show, When Gotham Falls has taken their music to the masses with critical acclaim.
When Gotham Falls’ much anticipated debut record entitled Volume I: A Hero Will Rise hit the streets on September 12, 2008. The diversity of the song selection is striking: from the piano driven ballad “Caroline”, to the thought provoking “Give up the Ghost” and the radio favorite “Rewind” the band reaches new heights as artists. The inherent drama in When Gotham Falls’ music – a kind of audio odyssey that can turn on a dime from piano-led introspection to hammering guitar – has resonated with listeners across the globe. The band's aggressive core finds a counterpart in their passionate vocals, lyrics that forge a connection with audiences searching for identity or struggling with feelings of desire, hope, love and loss. Volume I: A Hero Will Rise is a logical (but certainly not predictable) transformation of epic proportions for the band, and will soon be making its mark on the music world.
Unswayed by what the “know nothing” critics of the world called popular rock music, the members of When Gotham Falls are out to prove to their fans that the band is full of surprises and they are never afraid to play from their hearts. Josh, Christian, Finch, Matt, and Mike form a musical bond few have attained - they push the musical boundaries and incorporate them with a sound that is easy to spot by anyone who has become a fan. The guys are well on their way to taking the U.S. and the rest of the world by storm with their live shows.
When Gotham Falls is now ready to take it where the band feels best -- on the road. The group has performed extensively in their regional club circuit, and is confident they will rock their fans around the U.S. and the rest of the world just as hard as the fans they have acquired in Baltimore.
