Bio

Wendy DeRigo is no stranger to the entertainment industry. The first five years of her life were spent "on the road" with her parents and extended family, who were members of the well-known Cleveland based band, "Family Affair". Wendy benefited from a strong musical foundation throughout her childhood and was introduced to many forms of art.

For eight years Wendy was the lead singer of the Marc Vee Band, which was voted the "Best Band in SW Florida" in 2007. Today, Wendy can be seen performing as a soloist throughout the SW Florida area. Wendy has performed at a wide variety of venues ranging from weddings to some of the most elite private parties and country clubs in Florida. Some of the these places include The Hideaway Beach Club on Marco Island, The Ritz Carlton Resort of Naples, The Hyatt Regency Hotel at Coconut Point, Tween Waters Resort on Captiva Island, The Glam Slam of Miami, The Tiburon Golf and Country Club, Pelican's Nest Country Club, Pelican Isle Yacht Club, The Collier Athletic Club, Quail West Country Club, Casa Ybel Resort, and LaPlaya Resort in Naples. Wendy has also performed for the Jevon Kearse Foundation and NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchants) and was a performer at the 1997 Zen Festival in Tampa, FL where she sang background vocals for an audience of 5,000 people for the legendary "Marley Brothers" and the band "Le Coup". (This national event had video coverage by all of the major T.V. networks including MTV.)

Over the last decade, Wendy has lent her vocals to various recording projects of all genres, including Christian Contemporary, Jazz, R&B, and Reggae. In 2006, Wendy recorded regional and national radio ads for the Clothes Mentor.

Wendy has also been recognized as an accomplished songwriter. In 2001, she wrote the theme song for the Girls of Gainesville, an internet-based reality show and has recently received high acclaim from the International Songwriting Competition and VH1s Song of the Year contests.

Wendy has an "electric" energy on and off stage and her passion for music and the arts has made her well-versed in all areas of the entertainment field. With ten years of dance training; five years of individual flute training; four years of acting experience; two years experience as a college radio disk jockey; and five years spent as a professional vocal instructor, Wendy is knowledgeable and better prepared to meet the demands of a competitive market. In addition, Wendy has worked as a professional model for five years doing a variety of printwork, commercials, and videos. She has won numerous awards for a variety of talent competitions and pageants, including the Miss America Program and has been showcased on "Starmakers", a Ft. Myers, FL based television program.

Wendy enjoys listening to and performing all genres of music, although her favorite is contemporary/R&B. Some of Wendy's musical influences include Stevie Wonder; Yes; Earth, Wind, & Fire; Shania Twain; Mariah Carey; Brian McKnight; Natasha Bedingfield; Sara Bareilles; and Christina Aguilera.
