Guitar and vocal driven Rock at it's finest, Viva la Villains do what they do and do it right. The band could easily be labeled as Indie Rock or Alternative Rock, but really, it's just plain 'ol Rock. Nothing wrong with that.
"Bottle Rocket" cranks things up in the right way and the sound is rich and full featuring gritty vocals and thick guitar chords with a nice bottom end mix. "Upside Down" is solid as well, kickin' some ass and even opening with cowbell, always a solid move (and one Christopher Walken would appreciate). A grooving bass line also accents things and the vocals once again win the day. Fans of anything from Queens Of The Stone Age to The Strokes to the Foo Fighters would be pleased, and there's just a hint of some Alt or Indie in there in approach for good measure. Very enjoyable.
