Bio
Violent Bear started as a husband/wife folk duo out of Pensacola on 2007. Members Stephen and Tammy Herzig were heavily influenced by the traditional music of the gothic American south and the weighted history that lived on the streets of Pensacola and NOLA. After moving into rural middle America they started playing with the Cassity brothers Noah on lead guitar and Jonas on bass. In 2016 they released their self titled album. Over time the band took it's southern roots and fuse them with the raw crunchy garage band sound that has come to define Violent Bear.
March 17, 2017 Violent Bear put out their second full length album titled Post Everything. In May they released their first video for their song Mrs. Rabbit, an anti fascist call to arms and it became the first released single off the Post Everything album. In July they released the single 'I Will Wait For You".
As a band that has overtime become a family and never said no to a genre, Violent Bear has been able to dabble in many styles, playing everything from gritty punk to crooning country waltz. Able to adapt from high energy venue performances to intimate house shows, Violent Bear has started to make their mark on the Kansas City music scene.
