Based out of Kitchener Ontario the self-described "Rock'n'Funk'n'Soul" band is ready to take the world by storm. Vintage Playground's lead (and only) guitarist, Nick Iden is able to go from gritty to delicate to help set the many moods and eclectic stylings of the Vintage Playground sound. Nick also brings to the band, performance experience (Good For Naughts, Grounds For Divorce), as well as a vast knowledge of sound engineering and production as head of Brixton Studios.
David Junca will melt your face. Well, not literally but his bass playing is pretty magical. Junca, who hails all the way from Colombia, is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and makes up one half of Vintage Playground's dynamic rhythm section. With a background in jazz and latin music David brings a unique and authentic flavour to Vintage Playground's genre-bending sound.
If J-Ridm has his way, your dancing shoes will be destroyed by the end of the night. Ridm's passion and dedication for drumming is the driving force behind Vintage Playground's totally danceable set list. His control and dynamism is rivalled only by his energy and charisma both on and off stage. J-Ridm seeks and expects the best from himself and his bandmates in order to deliver the best possible sound for Vintage Playground's audiences.
The pale illegitimate love child of James Brown and Mick Jagger takes the form of Vintage Playground's lead singer/emcee, Simon Lewis. The frontman's philosophy of 'dance like everyone is watching' comes out of his love for dance and performance. Boasting a broad and soulful vocal range, thought-provoking lyrics, and a charismatic stage presence, Simon feeds off his talented band to give people the full Vintage Playground experience!
Vintage Playground has released a video for their first single, "Mutter, Mutter", available on YouTube and are currently working toward completion of their first EP.
