Lorca recibe hoy en su escenario al concertista argentino Victorio Menghi, que trae, en función única, a las 20:30, su espectáculo Tango fussion. El artista, en entrevista con EL DEBER, detalla que su presentación tiene dos secciones, una de tangos clásicos reversionados en guitarra clásica y otra sección electrónica, en base a composiciones propias de tango fusión.

¿Su sello como compositor revitaliza el tango?

Mi primera intención fue crear un estilo personal, y desarrollar este género original; percibí con claridad que en mis genes culturales está el tango y el lenguaje de Buenos Aires. Esto hizo que en mis composiciones el tradicional género cobre nueva vida.

Este aspecto de innovar musicalmente el tango ¿conquista a nuevas generaciones?

Mi experiencia me hace ver que, efectivamente, eso es lo que sucede. A jóvenes adolescentes e incluso a niños a los que doy clases, he visto maravillarse con este sonido rudo del tango. También abre fronteras, porque es para gente de otros países algo que conocen, pero que a la vez no saben bien de qué se trata. La curiosidad es una puerta de entrada.

¿Qué siente como músico rioplatense respecto al tango?

Me siento feliz por que exista un estilo de música que me represente, que sepa expresar tan bien pasión en la música e intelectualismo en las letras.

¿Qué cualidades especiales tiene el piano para ejecutar en él un repertorio de tango?

El piano es el maestro, por excelencia de este tipo de música y el periodo de florecimiento del instrumento fue el romanticismo, rasgos de un estilo que han sido pilares en la armonía y estética tanguera. Está en sus raíces, por lo que el piano, siempre será un gran intérprete de tango.

¿Qué posibilidades le brinda el recurso de la fusión en la creación musical?

El recurso de la fusión permite al tango penetrar un lenguaje musical universal. El tango en sí es una fusión, música de puerto que se ha consolidado a sí misma. Por ello es que tiene permiso de nuevamente fusionarse y la posibilidad es seguir vigente, no como una música de libro, sino como vibración sonora presente en siguientes generaciones.

¿Qué presentaciones tiene el tour Tango fussion?

Con la madurez que van a escuchar en Lorca y combinando acústico y eléctrico en una presentación, es la primera. Experimentaciones anteriores han sonado en Washington y en Nueva York, en Bogotá y en Río de Janeiro; tambien actué en Chile y en Europa.

Paralelamente a Tango fussion ¿está usted desarrollando otro trabajo?

Aunque mi experimentación en el tango tendrá un cierre en pocos años (lo tengo planeado) por el momento me toma por completo. Es como un cristal que uno va puliendo y, de a poco, le encuentra mejor forma

Victorio Menghi es músico, compositor, productor y uno de los referentes actuales del tango moderno, hace carrera en el exterior y es un pionero del Tango Fusion en Estados Unidos. Acaba de lanzar su nuevo trabajo de estudio: se trata de “Tango Fussion World Tour”. Vale la pena recordar los apellidos importantes de la historia de la música argentina en general y del rock y el tango en particular, que están presentes en su disco debut. Nombres como Cantilo, Mestre, Mollo, Crook, Porchetto, Rafanelli y Rodriguez (ex- Sui Generis),Bazterrica, Serra, Dixon, García López, Alvarez, Pugliese, Soldán y Cuacci, además de instrumentistas del teatro Colón. Victorio contó con el apoyo de todas estas figuras en su disco lanzamiento, donde iniciaba un profundo estudio en la fusión, que hoy ya se encuentra mucho mas desarrollado. “Tango Fussion World Tour” es un disco sin invitados, salvo por la participación del periodista Camilo García en una versión cantada (bonus track) del primer tema del disco.



Su nuevo álbum, sigue la misma línea del anterior en una suerte de continuidad de esta búsqueda personal. Al igual que en su primer trabajo los géneros pop, rock, electrónica, música sinfónica, ambiental y electroacústica se fusionan con el TANGO. “Tango Fussion World Tour”, es la misma idea, pero más acabada, más cercana a encontrar su estilo: es una combinación de letras en lenguaje porteño e inglés con el tango tradicional.

A fines del año 2006, Menghi concluyó la carrera de Instrumentista Superior especializado en guitarra tango y la Licenciatura en Composición con Medios Electroacústicos. Con su propuesta original y de calidad, TANGO FUSSION, es el cierre de una idea que le llevó largos años de estudio y experimentación. Con Rino Rafanelli, como co- director artístico.



Se trata de un disco muy interesante musicalmente, distinto a todo a lo que existe hoy en el mercado. Por medio de las pulsaciones rítmicas de la electrónica, las composiciones de Victorio Menghi tienen la capacidad de hacernos vibrar todo el cuerpo. No cesan las sorpresas, cada pista ofrece nuevos colores y caminos por recorrer para el oyente. Los 13 temas tocan nuestras emociones en distinta forma, despertando el amor y la pasión, como el tango; sentimientos de paz, como la Música de Cámara y excitación, como la electrónica. Menghi logró no solo que el TANGO penetre a la electrónica, sino que se sirva de la música sinfónica y además, logre presencia del rock pop”. Si bien parte del disco fue grabado por Victorio en Los Angeles, el resto se produjo en Argentina, junto al ingeniero, DJ, músico y productor Eduardo Sormani.

Argentine producer and composer Victorio Menghi, today announced the release of his Tango Fussion CD to audiences in the United States. Victorio Menghi has developed a genre he calls Tango Fussion. Tango Fussion combines the music of Buenos Aires with many other world musical influences, creating an experimental journey that combines the beautiful melodies and passion of the tango with electronica, pop, rock, folk and symphonic music. Each track on the CD displays Menghi's unique vision of combining the music of his homeland with genres from across the musical spectrum. Tango Fussion features an array a special guests from Argentina and other countries.

Tango Fussion was launched in the artist’s homeland of Argentina, where he studied composition and tango guitar. He holds degree of "Electro acoustic Composition" by the National University of Quilmes and the degree of "Superior Instrumentalist specialized in Tango" by the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda, Buenos Aires.The CD and DVD has been released by the label b, m, v, manufactured and distributed by the multinational EMI.

Menghi has since taken his distinctive style to Brazil, Colombia and Chile [ playing for 80.000 people] and is now in the United States. In Washington, D.C., he was recently interviewed by Univisión, Telemundo and the Washington Post. His travel to United States was sponsored by the Department of Music of the Chancellery Argentina.

The Buenos Aires native believes that mixing cultures is healthy for the future of humanity, contributes to world peace; while at the same time preserving our own native art influences. “This means that if you were born in Buenos Aires, like I was, you should love and try to preserve the cultural environment where you grew up,” he says. His unique style is indeed infused with the tango, but in a fresh and powerful original style, supported by solid technique and a silky voice. His music is absolutely original and his live performances generate a kind of "fievre".

The 1.3 million legal residents are generating taxable income to the tune of tens of billions of dollars and paying taxes on it, but don’t have any representation. They’re not fighting for the right to elect state or federal government officials who set policy for the state / nation, but rather to play a role in local government in the communities in which they live, work and play. A six month residency requirement and the legal documentation demonstrating that they are legal residents would be required.

Based on the literature we were given, 21 city council members have signed for Intro 410 and 30 city council members, including the speaker, have not signed for it. Process To Becoming A Legal Resident

To obtain legal residency one must go through a process which is part of a continuum leading to citizenship should one care to pursue the immigration path to its end. One applies for legal residency through either sponsored family connections [children, spouses, brothers and sisters, parents] or through a sponsored employment connection.

Once one has found a sponsor, a petition is submitted to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services [formerly Immigration and Naturalization Services], which is now a department of Homeland Security. The petition is reviewed. Priorities are allocated based on either employment needs and position / skills justification or with respect to immigration quotas, the process of which was outlined in a law.
U.S. Immigration Laws - Setting Quotas

Immigration laws in the U.S. specified quotas in 1924 and again in 1952 based by nation and regions. In 1985 this was modified and immigration policy was organized along family relationships and employment skills / needs criteria.

The third step in the process might be adjudication to secure one’s place in the priorities. To obtain a green card one must not have a criminal record and have an employment sponsor or family sponsor, both of which include financial support and a path to adapting to the American language, legal system and way of life. Legal residents also pay taxes, and have an opportunity to become citizens.

The U.S. Citizen to whom you’re related must submit the application and they must be operating at an income level that is at least 25% above the poverty level, which is about $20,000 / $25,000 for an individual / two people in the 48 contiguous states.

The citizen applicant must be an adult and in most cases this is age 21 plus, showing proper citizenship or legal resident status, they must be able to document their relationship to you and they must show that they can support you at a level 25% above the poverty level. "This means that if you were born in Buenos Aires, like I was, you should love and try to preserve the cultural environment where you grew up," he says. His unique style is indeed infused with the tango, but in a fresh and powerful original style, supported by solid technique and a silky voice. His music is absolutely original and his live performances generate a kind of "fievre".

El músico, compositor y productor Victorio Menghi acaba de re-editar su trabajo “TANGO FUSSION” que incluye temas de Gardel, Piazzolla, Pugliese e inéditos, arreglados por Victorio mismo y en el que participa un gran número de músicos profesionales y figuras reconocidas.



El disco nace del tango y recorre el folk, el rock, el pop y la música electrónica. Cada una de las pistas que integran este trabajo conforman un todo diverso y variado en su estética, que llega a tocar el corazón de todas y cada una de las personas que lo escucha.



En “SE ALZAN LAS VOCES” tema principal del disco y de autoría propia, se reunió SUI GENERIS para grabarlo (Nito Mestre, la voz; Juan Rodríguez y Rino Rafanelli, baterista y bajista original de la banda).



El tema está dedicado a la Marcha Mundial por la Paz, evento en el que Victorio ha tenido un trabajo destacado y para el cual produjo artísticamente un disco con músicos de todo el globo, editado en Madrid. Con él recorre diversos escenarios del mundo, llegando a tocar ante una multitud de 80 mil personas en el marco de un mega festival en Chile, donde también se presentaron Pedro Aznar y César Isella. Al mismo tiempo, produce junto con la ONG Mundo Sin Guerras, la presentación de la “Marcha mundial por la paz y la no violencia” en Buenos Aires, para interpelar a la gente a través de la música a convivir en un mundo pacífico. Participaron del evento MIGUEL CANTILO, RAÚL PORCHETTO, NO LO SOPORTO, EDU SMIDTH, MARCELO MOURA, GUILLERMO FERNÁNDEZ, DIEGO MIZRAHI, PEDI PUENTES, CLAUDIA PUYÓ, ANITA CO, WILLY QUIROGA, ANA NAON, ABRIL CANTILO, ADRIÁN FREIJE, FABRIZIO ZANELLA, MATAPLANTAS, FERNANDO BLANCO, PINKAT, PERCAL, LACHE Y EL CORO DEL COLEGIO DE ABOGADOS.

SOBRE VICTORIO MENGHI
Victorio Menghi, considerado uno de los referentes actuales del tango moderno, es licenciado en composición con medios electroacústicos (Universidad Nacional de Quilmes) e instrumentista superior especializado en tango (Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda). Con un estilo musical profundo, apunta a un público amplio como a especialistas.



Como productor, sus discos de tango fusión se distribuyen en todo el mundo, entre ellos se encuentran: 80’s Tango Chill Out, clásicos de la década de los 80’s realizados en versiones de tango. The Special Tango Jazz, un disco de 20 temas que combina versiones fusión de los mayores clásicos del tango y del jazz. Tango Progressy 2112, versiones electrónicas de piezas de Astor Piazzolla.



Con su música ha recorrido escenarios de Europa, Estados Unidos y Sudamérica. Su trabajo se distribuye entre Argentina, donde vive parte del año en la costa, y USA, principalmente en New York donde se mueve en un ambiente de artistas.



Actualmente se ha incorporado al sello EMI de la mano de BMV producciones, y prepara un nuevo trabajo discográfico con el que apuesta al arte fino y no a la música comercial. "TANGO FUSSION WORLD TOUR" se terminará de grabar en junio en Los Ángeles, para ser luego fabricado y distribuido por la multinacional en el mes de octubre.
