Bio
I was born, in a one roomed mud hut in Western Nepal, to a peasant farming family.
At the age of 5 , I and my sister were placed in an orphanage in Kathmandu: a whole bus journey and world away from the home that we knew.
It was at this stage that my sister and I were parted as she was adopted and moved to the UK.
I was left alone for nearly 3 years, then I finally joined my sister in the UK . I was adopted in 2001.
I first started singing and writing songs with my sister at the age of 10.
I am currently studying for a degree in Music Performance at Vocaltech (Thames Valley University)and gigging in London and in the North
Education
I am formally trained in pop and classical, and I complete my BMus (Hons) Music Performance from VocalTech in July 2011.
Musical Inspiration
I have an eclectic taste in music.I take inspiration from the best of jazz, blues and RnB. I fuse styles, cultural influences and experiences to create a unique, fresh sound with insighful lyrics.
My inspirations cover many genres from the early jazz of the likes of Etta James, to the big band sounds of Shirley Bassey to the magic of Michael Jackson and Bob Marley fused with the contemporary style of Amy Winehouse and the performance of Beyonce .
