Bio
Varsity is a quintet of goofballs itching to make tunes for the ears and hearts. Their intricately arranged songs bounce between playful and nostalgic and leave you with a hook to hum for days. After releasing an EP and a self-titled mini LP in 2014, the band spent the next year self releasing a series of digital singles, allowing them to explore different styles and refine their sound at a rapid pace. These singles garnered the band an eclectic following, blog affection, and a spot in Chicago weekly Redeye’s “10 under-the-radar, must-own Chicago releases from 2015”.
Varsity has toured the Midwest and East Coast extensively, and has supported bands such as Courtney Barnett, Alvvays, Car Seat Headrest, Twin Peaks, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Diet Cig and Protomartyr.
