Homegrown: Vagabonds vibe is varied melting-pot sounds of Miami with myriad musical styles.
"Our sound is pretty much not having one," Eddy "E.R." Villafuerte said. "We're able to go from energetic to laid back."
Gerard "Baysiqly" Gauthier and Villafuerte were raised in the Magic City and still live there. Their music is an homage to the 'hood -- good and bad. The guys tackle some hard-core issues, including prostitution and drug abuse. It's not always pretty, but it's not preachy either.
"It's just us taking on the neighborhood and the world, and turning it into audio," said Villafuerte, a Miami native with Honduran and Guatemalan roots.
"We share the same goals," said the Haitian-born Gauthier. "We touch on many subjects, things we see in our everyday lives."
Friends for the past eight years, the pair teamed up in 2009 after leaving another group to form their Vagabond Music label. A year later they dropped their debut, "V For Vendetta." A second effort, "Good Neighbors," was released Jan. 1.
"Good Neighbors" also enlists the talents of several South Florida rappers, a nod of support for the local scene, said Gauthier.
"We don't see these artists as competition," Villafuerte said. "They're like family to us."

Much talk is being made in local hip-hop circles of the "new Miami," a widening circle of not necessarily similar-sounding, but similarly minded hungry local MCs. Among some of these diverse rising artists are Phresh James, Ghostwridah, LMS, Dynas, Saheed, Garcia -- and a million others entertaining on Twitter that we are forgetting because it's early, sorry!
All vary in sound and attitude, but what all of the new Miami faces share is a hunger to go overground, while elevating the industry conversation through fresh artistic expression and more smarts than the average wannabes.
Among those who are proud to wave the new Miami flag are the two artists behind Vagabonds Music Group, producer ER and MC Baysiqly. The two met a couple years back when Baysiqly asked ER to make beat magic for a solo track. The result was "Space Music" in the summer of 2009, a psychedelic jam flipped over Max Romeo's reggae classic "Chase the Devil." Scoring some 12,000 downloads in a month based on word of mouth alone, "Space Music" was minted an underground success and the Vagabonds creative partnership was cemented.
Together, ER and Baysiqly also form the business wing of things -- Vagabonds Music Group, LLC -- a creative consultant group that connects industry people with publishing deals, management, and even graphic and apparel design. Through this hustle, the two aim to fund their own creative work. Not a bad business model to try in 2011.
As artists in their own right, however, the duo continues a steady output, most recently marked by a just-released new effort, Good Neighbors. The featured collaborator roster reads like a who's-who of the new Miami: the aforementioned LMS, Dynas, Saheed, Garcia, Ghostwridah, as well as Protoman (repping 561) and many others.
For your downloading pleasure, here's the first single, "Here We Go," which features a guest verse from Dynas. Here, laid-back production from fellow up-and-coming trio Miami Beat Wave serves as a nice foil for his and ER's controlled but spirited lyrical back-and-forth. Grab it at the link below, and stay tuned for details on a live album release party that's in the works. - Arielle Castillo / Miami New Times Newspaper

Coming off the success of their last video, “The Real Dade County”, the Vagabonds are finally releasing the first OFFICIAL video release off their new EP, “#FML”. Titled “Invisible”, this Baysiqly solo track (produced by E.R. of course), details the struggle of being ignored and overlooked while having a message that they want to bring out to the world, or a “speck in a world full of objects”, as Baysiqly puts it.
“Invisible” mashes up E.R.’s bouncy, psychedelic board work with cinematics from Mr. Visual, showing a first-person view of an individual being ignored by everyone who passes him by. That, along with flashes of current world events, is a deadly mixture that can drive anybody to insanity and irrational choices, as depicted by the ending of this video. - Brian “Digital B” Tomlinson / The Drop NYC

Vagabonds releases their first official video entitled “Invisible” from their EP, #FML. - BK Maarten / Are You In That Mood Yet?
Late last night, The Vagabonds dropped “Invisible,” the first video from their upcoming EP entitled #FML. The song, produced by E.R., is a Baysiqly solo track, detailing the struggles of those who are ignored and overlooked. With everything going on in the world these days, especially with regard to the Occupy movement, this song is particularly timely and relevant. From VMG:

taying busy behind the lens through his Mr. Visual video company, as well as working on his debut project, “Make Me Famous”, Mago has remained low key since he dropped the video to his “Otis” freestyle a few months back. He’s back with a new video, linking up with Vagabonds member E.R. to create the “Best of Both Worlds”.
Featuring no hook, and a beat produced by Mago, “Best of Both Worlds” is a lyrical attack from the two MC’s, with E.R.‘s commanding flow holding things down in English and Mago using his rapid fire Spanish flow letting you know exactly what he’s setting out to accomplish. Although Latinos have been well represented in hip-hop in the past, it’s rare to see both sides of the spectrum being showcased alongside each other. - Destro / HipHopRuckus.com

This actually dropped a couple of weeks ago but I wasn’t blogging at the time so I missed the opportunity to let y’all know about the latest collaboration between my buddy E.R. (of The Vagabonds) and Dominican MC Mago.
“Best of Both Worlds” showcases the rhyme skills of the two Miami-based lyricists, the concept being that Mago (who also produced the track) spits in Spanish while E.R. raps in English. The song has no hook—it’s just the two MCs going back and forth, tag team-style. “Although Latinos have been well represented in hip-hop in the past,” E.R. writes on the VMG blog, “it’s rare to see both sides of the spectrum being showcased alongside each other.”

@ER305 E.R. has decided to take a couple of minutes to lay down a little solo joint to get your mind off Miami Heat loss in the finals. Although he’s never been the arrogant type, he believes Miami’s rap scene is ready to be taken over by Baysiqly and himself, hence his spelling of his hometown for this track.
A lot more light hearted than he typically is in his music, E.R. has taken on 4 instrumentals directly tied in with his hometown, switching up flows for each beat accordingly. He starts off with the theatric “600 Benz” by Wale of Maybach Music Group, followed by Poe Boy’s own Billy Blue’s “Ridaz & Slidaz” instrumental, and switches it up to Trina’s “Red Bottoms” instrumental, which has E.R.’s fast flow right at home, and finally rounds it out with Dj Khaled’s “I’m On One” instrumental.

E.R. has decided to take a couple of minutes to lay down a little solo joint to get your mind off Miami Heat loss in the finals.
The homie E.R. of Vagabonds lays some verses on some of his South Florida favorites to pay homage to the bottom. Here's what Vagabond Music Group had to say at press time:

For you slower people out there who don't understand the title, E.R. represents the Vagabonds hailing from the 305 aka Dade County aka MIAMI. Here he spits over four different beats, starting with "600 Benz." My favorite is when he goes over "Red Bottoms" (the 3rd beat). The beat switched up on me that I felt like I started listening to a different song... Interesting. This is a mix to showcase the different flows that E.R. has to deliver. My homeboy E.R., one-half of Miami rap outfit The Vagabonds, decided to lay down a little solo joint to, as he puts it, “get your mind off the Miami Heat’s loss in the recent finals.” While I’m not sure if it’s us, the listeners, or him, the ultra-Heat fan, that needs to be comforted, one thing is certain: E.R.’s blessed us with another banger.

Or perhaps I should say “bangers,” as the producer/MC spits over four Miami-centric instrumentals from the likes of Wale, Billy Blue, Trina and DJ Khaled. While I’m loving the whole thing, I gotta say, it’s nice to hear E.R. employ his rapid fire flow during the “Red Bottoms” segment.

The South Florida hip hop duo Vagabonds have dropped their first video “Predictions” of Good Neighbours. They give a perfect wake-up call after their release of Good Neighbours released on this New Year of 2011.
The Vagabonds is made up of Eddy "E.R." Villafuerte and Gerard "Baysiqly" Gauthier, the two MCs, who focus on making classic music. They approach their craft with a philosophy that enables them to combine socially relevant lyrics with lush, elaborate production. Their previous project was 2010's V For Vendetta, which struck a chord with music lovers the world over, netting 20,000 downloads based solely on word-of-mouth in along with their internet-only singles, Space Music, Success, and Work It Out.
Their new project, Good Neighbors, is a collaboration album featuring many of Miami’s rising hip-hop stars. The 15-track album features appearances by Ryan K, Dynas, Alex Walker, Len Xiang, Kobie Powell (of US3/Cantaloop fame), Protoman, Dashius Clay, Saheed, Garcia, LMS, The MC Faceman, Jay Fingers and GhostWridah. The majority of Good Neighbors was produced by E.R., with assists from Miami Beat Wave and High Guyz Productions. - BrainStormLive.com

People have probably noticed that PTB is about more urban and new-age music. This doesn't necessarily mean that we exclude anything that has the "old" feel to it. Vagabonds, made up of mc's E.R. and Baysiqly, just released this video. I'm a huge fan of straight rap/hip-hop. No autotune, no crazy effects, just straight up rap and a basic beat. In the e-mail, E.R. explained their vision of this music video perfectly so here's an excerpt:

This video and track by the Vagabonds is fresh to death, no joke. Considering this is the duo's first video from their Good Neighbors project, only shows that they got some talent. The video is split into 4 sequences, one of which is rapper BAYSIQLY doing chores and flipping through channels on the TV. Then the other sequences show member E.R. walking through Little Havana looking for some new samples. The overall concept is great and the video is done very well.
For those new to the Vagabonds, E.R. handles the production and with "Predictions," he developed a bumpin' tune with a 70's soul-vibe. BAYSIQLY has some nice lines and handles the lyrical content. Watch the video below and you can download Good Neighbors for free here.

This past Wednesday, my boys Baysiqly and E.R., known to hip-hop aficionados as The Vagabonds, released their latest music video for the new single “Predictions.”
The video’s concept is very cool, and somewhat similar to the idea behind Mike Figgis‘ experimental film Timecode; the screen is divided into quarters and features shots of E.R. and Baysiqly going about their usual daily routine before meeting up at Nicaraguan eatery Yambo Fritanga in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.
Since it’s a music video, though, it’s all about the music. The song is a Baysiqly solo, and the MC waxes philosophical about The Vagabonds’ current status and future in the hip-hop game over E.R.’s funky, Willie Hutch-inspired production. - Jay Fingers / Air Conditioning: A Cool Blog

The first video release from the Vagabond’s Good Neighbors mixtape will have the 305 playing “Pop Up Video” in their head. With plenty of familiar locations and easy to relate to day-to-day activities the track tells the story of the pairs “Predictions”. Joining us today are E.R. and Basiqly, who make up the collective "Vagabonds Music Group", who are undoubtedly at the forefront of Florida’s evolving music scene.
To get the ball rolling here; E.R, What is Vagabonds Music Group?
E.R: Let me break it down for ya, man. We kinda already are off in left field with the pronunciation. We recognize that it is pronounced as it is spelled in English; our take on it though goes back to the Haitian roots, where it is pronounced Vagabon', it’s more or less a way for us to bring our culture into it a bit.
Basiqly: Just to add to that, the name for us is kind of a double standard for us. Being Haitian, I know as a culture that is used to describe someone who is up to no good, someone who is in affiliation with the gang culture. For us though, we chose that name because we see the definition as being someone who is always on the move, always travelling from one place to another with the sole intention of trying to discover themselves. It’s a weird thing to experience; because people will come up to me and be like "so, are you some kind of gangster or something?" They get the wrong Idea about the message behind the music we make. That’s why on our website and our social networking pages, we have the definition of the word readily available for our visitors to take in. We are the perfect example of a couple of modern day Vagabonds; all we do is travel, trying to find ourselves in this music industry.
E.R: Definitely that is in terms of the name. One, the business end of it, we have heard of and been witness to so many horror stories involving artists getting stuck in go-nowhere record deals, where they have no say in their final product, or are short-changed for the work that they put in. For us, we know for a fact, due to us owning our own catalogue and merchandising rights that a lot of money goes into this venture every day, and we do not want to see that go to waste when the end of the day rolls around. I, personally, went to school for music business and my mentor there Steve Roitstein, who is an industry vet who has won some Grammy awards for the work behind the scenes that he has done, really showed me the ropes and helped prepare me for what it takes to make it in this business; because he recognized the talents we possess early on in our career. With his support, we have put this company together and we are teaching him the things that we learn as we make our mark on the industry.
Basiqly, what would you say the collective message of "Vagabonds Music Group" is?
Basiqly: Most people seem to think that we are very conscious rappers; in reality we are not really trying to spread the good word or anything like that, we just tell a story with our music that depicts the world as we see it. We kind of stick to the gray area of hip hop that is most relatable to people who are faced with the changing times that are at hand. Whether it be the well off people out there who are losing their shirts to the recession, or to the people who are struggling everyday to put food on their family's plates. We do not want to tell the same stories that we hear all the time, from people in the industry. We are just ordinary people telling ordinary stories in a way that listeners find extraordinary. I'm sure E.R can add to that as well...
E.R.: Basically, I agree with everything he said. The American dream of going to college and working hard with dreams of making a very comfortable existence for yourself, is no longer the reality that many young people are faced with. I did not even finish my music degree and I was able to get a high paying job in the industry, so the times are changing, man. I like what he said when he was discussing the gray side of things, because that was something that I even brought up to him in the very beginning, when we were discussing the logo design. I liked that it was black, white and gray, because even in the year 2010, it is a very black and white world. The "V" in our design highlights that gray area that we throw out there to the masses.
What, as individuals, would you say was the driving force behind each of you deciding on hip hop as a career choice?
Basiqly: I was not born in this Country (U.S.A); growing up in Haiti, I would always be found crowding around a radio, ya know. When I came over here, hip hop was the first form of music that I experienced a love for. Throughout the years, I developed a passion for it; even in high school while the teachers were doing their lessons, I would be writing rhymes. I always had a vision of myself being involved in the music business; it all came together after high school. I met E.R. in 2003 and we just hit it off, and started planning for our futures.
E.R.: My history with music goes way back, man. I do not have the typical story of growing up in a single parent home, with no one to look up to. Both of my parents have always done whatever they needed to do to prov - MusicBliss.net

Allright here it is. The second edition of This Is Dade. I dropped the last one last month (click here to download) with a goal of getting 100 people to download it. Well, about 500-600 people downloaded it before I had to reup the link again. So now, I’m dropping Volume Two with the lovely Suleika part of the cover art and I will hopefully continue to drop a new edition of This Is Dade every month from now on. This one features some of the same artists and normal cast of 305 artists, but also features various new ones like Baysiqly, Phatz, Miraj and LMS to name a few. Again, this is not a mixtape, but more like a compilation of the best songs that appeared on The305.com over the last couple month(s). I also threw in a throwback in there from Dre and Keyshia Cole. Hope ya’ll enjoy.
Oh and P.S. – I may want to start pressing these up into actual CDs sometime in 2010, so if you’re interested in being a sponsor to help pay for printing costs, holla at us miamihiphop@gmail.com

"Good Neighbors" is the Vagabonds long-awaited follow up to their Summer 2010 debut mixtape, "V For Vendetta". This is a collaboration album featuring Miami's up and rising talent, such as Garcia (Crazy Hood Productions), GhostWridah (LYFE/Poe Boy Ent), and Saheed, among others. This album is a great indicator of the direction that the Vagabonds music is taking, weaving in and out of boom bap-styled hip hop, alternative music, rock-influenced tracks, and dirty south rap styled productions with no effort on their part. This is a taste of what's to come from the official Vagabonds debut album, "Telekinesis", as well as solo material they have in the works.

You should probably already know this, but for the past year or so I’ve been working with Miami hip-hop act The Vagabonds. The rap duo of E.R. and Baysiqly put out several successful projects in 2010, including their debut mixtape V For Vendetta and singles “Space Music,” “Success,” and “Work It Out.” Their buzz has grown exponentially over the past few months and the group has been featured on such notable music blogs as Kevin Nottingham, DJ Booth, Antisteez, Ashy Knuckles, and 305 Hip-Hop, just to name a few.
Yesterday, The Vagabonds dropped their highly anticipated new release, Good Neighbors, an album full of collaborations with some of Miami’s hip-hop luminaries. From their press release:
The 15-track album features appearances by Ryan K, Dynas, Alex Walker, Len Xiang, Kobie Powell (of US3/Cantaloop fame), Protoman, Dashius Clay, Saheed, Garcia, LMS, The MC Faceman, Jay Fingers and GhostWridah. The majority of Good Neighbors was produced by E.R., with assists from Miami Beat Wave and High Guyz Productions.
The album’s concept was inspired by the Baysiqly solo track “Good Neighbors” found on V For Vendetta.
Can I just say how excited I am about Good Neighbors? I honestly believe this is The Vagabonds’ best work to date, and I’m extremely proud of my brothers. Take a moment to check it out—I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s dope. - Jay Fingers / JayFingers.com
This is the first leak off the Vagabonds new project, “Good Neighbors”, which is a collaboration album with all of Miami’s rising stars including LMS, Garcia (Crazy Hood Productions), Saheed, Protoman (FootWork4Self Records), and Ghostwridah (Poe Boy Entertainment) among others. A majority of the production is handled by Vagabonds member E.R., and will be released on December 15th for free digital download on their website. - Ashy Knuckles / AshyKunckles.com
With a name like Vagabonds, you’d think that group members E.R. and Baysiqly were a notorious grouping of miscreants complacent with making a cacophony of noise. Well, if by “miscreants” you mean “badass Miami natives” and by “noise” you mean “noize”, you’d be on the money when describing the duo. The group’s first DJBooth feature, Here We Go, shows the benefits of having both a producer and an artist in the group, as emcee Baysiqly drops a verbal arsenal and E.R. also assists on the vocals, ceding his usual production role to Miami Beat Wave this time around. With an impressive feature from Dynas (“...ain’t rocking skinny jeans like queens or rug rats/ feel the power when I speak, they love it when I does that”) and blazing boardwork from MBW, Vagabonds are obviously planning on taking the deep South movement cross country. Are y’all ready to join that movement? Well then, Here We Go. Their upcoming next project, Good Neighbors, is a collaboration with the rest of Miami’s rising stars and is due out January 1.

Vagabond: One who wanders from place to place, having no fixed dwelling, or not abiding in it, and usually without the means of honest livelihood; a vagrant; a tramp; hence, a worthless person; a rascal.
The Miami music scene, particularly in the local hip-hop arena has resurrected itself. The creative juices are flowing and talent emanates like the neon lights of clichés on South Beach. While the artists are hungry, the reputation for the South Florida music scene could be viewed as more qualitative. I mean we have more to say than “that little chico from Miami”. In an attempt to bring a more socially aware sound to Miami hip-hop the group “The Vagabonds” was formed.
Longtime friends Baysiqly and E.R. have lived the rise and fall of “making it”, but that’s what makes an artist grow stronger. After parting ways with an associate and dissolving a group each went on their way to discover their solo projects. That is until the summer of 2009 when they were brought together by a sample for a concept track. From that collaboration spawned the hit “Space Music” which generated over 12,000 downloads in less than a month on pure word of mouth promotion. Their similar styles and view on life as well as music made the creation of Vagabonds Music Group inevitable. While at first glance the pair seems like a rapper-producer team their work overlaps into one another’s specialty giving you a well rounded combination of production and lyrical flow.
The guys released their debut mixtape earlier this year “V for Vendetta” and made their presence known by working with a variety of artists as well and pushing their music at live shows. Their upcoming and latest, project takes on the name of a track from “V for Vendetta” which drops on December 15th. The new project, “Good Neighbors”, features a laundry list of local emcees as well as a couple of out-of-state features.
The first release from the album “Here We Go” is a hard hitting reintroduction to the group you’ll learn to know well… The Vagabonds. A veteran to the 305 hip-hop game, Dynas joins the dynamic duo throwing down verses to original board work by Miami Beat Wave. We’re already excited about the direction this is going in! Take notice to the old school drum loop and distorted guitar riffs by one- Chip Williams. The Vagabonds like to refer to this as “the prototype for what should be considered Southern fried boom-bap.” Very nice.
While you anxiously await the drop of this album take a gander at the exclusive footage Antisteez captured during the making of the album. We take you behind the scenes of a full-on Miami collaboration of sounds. Be sure to stay turned for the “Good Neighbors” release on December 15th as well as the Antisteez all-access video tour. ‘Cause we want you to be as cool and connected as us. This is just a teaser of what’s to come featuring the cover track for “Good Neighbors” which is the first single titled “Here We Go”.

Since the release of their debut mixtape V For Vendetta earlier this year, The Vagabonds have made quite a name for themselves, working with a variety of artists, performing a few live shows, and steadily making their mark in the game. The duo, comprised of MC Baysiqly and producer/MC E.R., has accomplished so much and earned such an unprecedented amount of respect in such a short time that their upcoming release, Good Neighbors, features collaborations with renowned artists like Ghostwridah, Alex Walker, Protoman, LMS, and The MC Faceman, just to name a few. (And I’m proud to say that I, too, have worked with these talented cats.)
For hip-hop fans, “Here We Go” is the perfect (re)introduction to The Vagabonds. Veteran Miami MC Dynas, who’s worked with everyone from Slick Rick to Dilla, joins Baysiqly and E.R. in asserting their lyrical dominance over original boardwork by Miami Beat Wave. Featuring an ill, old school drum loop and distorted guitar riffs by Chip Williams, “Here We Go” is the prototype for what could be considered Southern fried boom-bap.

Baysiqly: What's up world, I go by the name of Baysiqly, AKA Dreamer. Thanks for having us 24hourhiphop.
E.R.: What they do world, it's E.R., one half of the Vagabonds checking in!
24-How long have you been recording music for and perfecting your craft as composers?
Baysiqly: I have always been around music ever since I could remember, but I really didn't start getting into it until 2004 or 2005. Although I look back at what I did before and look at where my craft has come to be, and there's a HUGE difference.
E.R.: I've been writing raps since I was in sixth or seventh grade, and started dabbling in beat making around ninth grade. As far as recording goes, I never really started producing for other people and recording tracks until after I graduated high school, so this is something that I knew was a jit I wanted to do, so I happened to just spend most of my teenage years perfecting my craft as opposed to doing the typical teenager stuff.
24-I'm aware that before becoming a Duo you both were solo artist's. Tell me a bit about how it all came full circle and the meaning behind The Vagabonds.
Baysiqly: I haven't always been a solo artist, I was involved in a previous venture where I was in a duo with another person, which that didn't work out. As far as teaming up with E.R., he has always been riding with me and a couple of people since we were both young. I think I met him when he was only 15, but E.R. and I have always had the same ear for music. Even when I was making music where I wasn't necessarily being myself, I would always look to him to make me the type of beat that I would feel more comfortable spitting over. We didn't become a producer/artist duo until last year where we had a falling out with our previous squad. It's something that happened gradually, during the summer of last year he hit me up and asked me if I still made music because at that time I was going through some things and I was ready to give up on making music. I shot him an idea for a song with a Max Romeo sample and he created the "Space Music" beat. After I heard it, I was like "okay, I got this", and ended up lacing the lyrics and it was history from there. We had the right chemistry and shared the same Ideas for what we wanted to accomplish both as musicians and as business men. We ended up incorporating Vagabonds Music Group, LLC and it was a snowball effect from then on.
E.R.: Yeah like Baysiqly said, we've been both solo artists and fellow group members as part of a previous endeavor. Pretty much, some parties involved didn't want to take this seriously as a business, and let egos and outside issues come to the forefront, and it destroyed what we built. I don't regret it, because soon after Baysiqly hit me up with an idea for a track and "Space Music" was born, and the 20,000 downloads that song got off pure word of mouth lead up to everything we've accomplished thus far.
24-You recently released your first mix tape together as a duo titled "V For Vendetta". Tell me a bit about the mix tape as well as the sound that you both were trying to project on this project.
Baysiqly: With the mix tape itself, we wanted to show that not only could we flow on original tracks with certain topics but on industry beats as well. There's a couple of tracks on there that let's the listeners hear what they could expect from us in the near future. The purpose of the mix tape was to bring forth our sound but not to the extent in which they'll be able to hear in a couple of months. We also wanted to keep it strictly us two because we wanted to expose our message more, except for the third bonus track, "Still Piff With It", which featured Brooklyn-based MC Faceman and our publicist, Jay Fingers.
E.R.: "V For Vendetta" was a mixtape we put together in a day, really. It's Baysiqly and I lashing out our frustrations the music industry has caused us over the course of this VMG endeavor. Everything is so political, most people involved are fake, and we got a lot of backlash for being ourselves and not being who they want us to be. The overall tone of the mixtape is dark despite the variety of topics, because that's how life was at that point, but at the same time we were showing off our skills, making sure to use only 16 bars on most tracks to challenge us into impressing the world using 45 seconds of each track, because we're both that passionate about this hip-hop things.
24- The video for the first single off the mix tape "V For Vendetta" which was directed by one of Miami's hottest up incoming director's Dre Films has been circulating the net and has been receiving great reviews. Tell us a little bit about the video and how you linked up with Dre on this Video.

Now this is what I’m taumbout!
Miami’s own E.R. and Baysiqly wax romantic about their home turf, with an assist from R&B crooner Rolls Royce. The song, which is built upon the instrumental to the Rick Ross/Ne-Yo collabo “Super High,” is a dedication to Dade County, home of tropical weather, beautiful vistas, and gorgeous women. Both MCs flow smoothly and effortlessly over Clark Kent and the Remedy‘s production, which provides a sonic departure from The Vagabonds’ usual synth-heavy style. - Jay Fingers / Stereo Cool
The Vagabonds come back with another one. Over Rick Ross' "Super High", they link up with Miami R&B crooner Rolls Royce (twitter.com/darealhk) for the perfect autumn banger, an ode full of appreciation for everything beautiful Miami has to offer. All South Florida heads will definitely feel this one! - Napps / iBlog126.com

WBM presents Vagabonds, coming out of Miami making themselves a house hold name in the HipHop Music scene. Take a minute and get to know these uprising artists.
Introduce yourselves to the people who already dont know who you are.
Baysiqly: I go by the name of Baysiqly, and I represent half of the Vagabonds. The real me haha, I'm honestly your everyday person. Everything you hear in my music comes from my everyday life, my experiences and how I view the world to be around me. Theres a void in society that hip-hop hasn't exploited yet or at least hasn't done so for a while and we're just trying to bring back the goodness and realness to music by relating our actual lives, nothing really ficitional, just raw audio.
E.R.: I'm E.R., the production half of the Vagabonds duo. We've accomplished our biggest goal of 2010 already, which is basically establishing our company, establishing our duo as an up & coming entity in Miami hip-hop, and at this point we're just looking to continue to make our buzz bigger and bigger and eventually leaving a dent in this industry. Right now we're working with a lot of artists here in South Florida, our upcoming single "Predictions" and all the behind-the-scenes business regarding that, and completing our debut album, "Telekinesis", which drops early 2011.
Explain the difference between the u on stage and the u off stage?
Baysiqly: I actually have a couple different personas, my stage name varies at times, haha. I mean I'm still known as Baysiqly but I also share the stage with my alter ego, "Dreamer". "Baysiqly" is the main person on stage, the one with most of the songs who constantly has to go through every aspect of the game, but every once in a while "Dreamer" comes out. "Dreamer" is pretty much a part of my early childhood all the way up to high school, before the chaos of the game, the politics, finances, and rules, etc. "Dreamer" represents my long life goal of just making a living off music and enjoying it. "Dreamer" is the kid who used to be in class picturing himself in front of a packed crowd and doing what he loves best. That dream never dies.
E.R.: My stage persona is the real me. E.R. is Eddy from Eastside Little Havana and vice versa. Every thing, person, place, and situation I write about is something that Eddy has gone through, the good, the bad, the ugly. From the hoe stories, to the struggles, the good times, mentioning tears coming down from my old girl's eyes, and the industry struggles we've encountered so far, that's all my real life. I joke with people in my life all the time, you may or may not like what I say in a song because it can be something that happened between us, but I have to keep it real at all times.
How long have you been in the Music game?
E.R.: I've been a fan since I was born because hip-hop was always around me, but I've been doing this since 2005. Since I started I always worked with Baysiqly, as part of an older scenario which didn't work out well, but I take it as a blessing because Baysiqly and I learned exactly what we're supposed to do and not do in order to succeed in this game.
Baysiqly: I've been around music before I even heard hip hop, but as far as taking a serious liking to it and wanting to advance myself I'd say I've been doing this since 2004. There were many trials and tribulations, but it was all for a good cause because it allowed me to be where in the position I'm at today to steer head my own career.
Greatest accomplishment so far in life?
E.R.: Starting Vagabonds Music Group, definitely. From literally having just one song, "Space Music", go get 20,000 downloads in over one month from PURE word of mouth on Facebook and Twitter, no marketing company behind it or anything, to establishing Vagabonds Music Group and releasing our debut mixtape "V For Vendetta" and becoming a known entity in Miami hip-hop and gaining the respect of all our peers. We've done all this in under a year, so I'm definitely looking forward to what the future holds.
Baysiqly: Good question. Most people would say things like finishing school, winning some kind of award or something like that, but my greatest accomplishment so far has been just being alive to wake up doing what I love. Starting this company with my partner and pushing it forward literally building it from the ground up has been a major accomplishment for me. I never felt as satisfied when I finished school as I felt when I signed the ownership papers for VMG.
What are some of your Interest(s)?
Baysiqly: Besides the obvious like sports, movies, and games, I'm a very motivated and bussiness oriented person. I usually study and research different comapnies that are succeeding in this reccession and try to see how I could go about making the right moves to bring success to my company or my future endeavors. I'm sort of big on entrepreneurship, I've owned a couple of bussiness, some in which I've had to let loose but I dedicate myself t - Why Blue Matters
24-Introduce yourselves to our readers online and around the world.
Baysiqly: I reached out to Dre on Twitter actually because I saw the work he was doing with other acts and he responded back to me quickly and was down to put toge - Ryan Keith / 24HourHiphop.com

What’s good with you?
Baysiqly: Doing good, thanks for having us.
E.R.: I’m working working working…doing the music & the business work.
When did you first get into the hip hip scene out here in the MIA?
Baysiqly: I’ve been in the Miami scene for about six years going back my days with a previous endeavor which E.R. was also a part of. It wasn’t until recently when i teamed up with E.R. again after a brief break in which i started seeing the impact my music could make with doing things the right way in regards of getting it out to the fans.
E.R.: I started making beats when I was around 14, but I’m very cautious of what I wanted to put out, so I would just come home every day and make beats and see the improvement with every track I did. I also wrote rhymes since I was 11 but never took it seriously, I just used to be on the back of the school bus writing away, trying to make as many multi-syllable rhymes as possible because everyone used to try and freestyle back then. Got involved in that failed endeavor with Baysiqly, and fast forward a year after we jumped ship, here we are, Vagabonds Music Group.
We posted your mixtape the other day on miamihiphop.org and its getting good feedback. Whats your favorite song on the mixtape?
Baysiqly: I actually have two favorite songs on there. My first one would be “It Ain’t So Hard To Tell”, because it describes every aspect of my life. I went deep in that song in regards to my past. My second favorite would be “Good Neighbors”, which talks about me moving into a new neighborhood with artists who make the same kind of music I do and have the same frame of mind, sort of like me feeling comfortable in my new surroundings.
E.R.: I have two favorite tracks as well. First you have “Say You Will”, which is over the Kanye West instrumental of the same name, but I flipped it in a very different way. It’s me lashing out at people who say they support your music but they don’t, and industry folks who feel like you making it is because of any so-called favors they may do, but in actuality they come to help when it’s convenient. My old girl got a shout out on there, because she was the first one to believe in me doing music, so I have to let her know I’m thankful for that. Second track, “I’m A Vagabond”, is just that, basically describing what we’re about. Baysiqly is on that track in spirit, and I love it because it’s a crowd favorite when we perform it because of the hook.
I know you’re on your grind hard and I bet you’re already working on the next project(s). Can you let us know what you have in the works?
Baysiqly: We have plenty in the works besides “V For Vendetta”. We intend on dropping the single “Predictions” for our next project, “No Gimmicks”. The fans could expect to see all original material and our true artistic side. We feel as if we are a different brand of hip hop in which we talk about a variety of topics and the people will notice that automatically with our next project.
E.R.: Just like Baysiqly said, we have “Predictions” coming soon. One of our best collaborations for sure, it’s a very strong record. Before that we actually have a movie trailer-type film for Vagabonds Music, which actually uses some of the music from “Predictions”. You’ll notice my production has a film-feel to it, because like it to tell stories even without lyrics. “No Gimmicks” will be our Gangstarr/UGK project, meaning that he’ll play the role of Guru (RIP) or Bun B, while I handle all the production duties like Dj Premier and Pimp C (RIP) did. After that, for 2011, we have solo projects we’re working on, which right now I’m thinking up of all the song concepts of mines for.
Who did you look up to in the Miami hip hop game growing up?
Baysiqly: Growing up, Trick Daddy was one of my favorite Miami artists. Legends such as Luke and 2 Live Crew kept us dancing, but Trick was my favorite Miami MC.
E.R.: Trick Daddy Dollars! I grew up on Miami music though, my older cousins Lito & JC would be playing 2 Live Crew when I was a baby so it was always in my blood, but Trick and JT Money & the Poison Clan showed the world Miami was more than making girls dance.
Let’s talk about your video. Where did you shoot it at? And who filmed it?
Baysiqly: The video was shot where i spent most of my childhood coming from Haiti before i moved south. My scene was shot in North Miami at my old apartment complex. The apartment shown in the video was actually my old living headquarters. I’ll never forget that place. Another portion of my video, (”First Day of School”) was shot in front my old elementary school, Natural Bridge Elementary.
E.R.: My two portions of the video were shot in Riverside, in Little Havana’s east side which is where I was born and raised. The “Exhibit E” scene where I’m rapping on the stair case is actually my old apartment building, it used to be so many of us in that building, so it’s something I wanted to do to show I can never forget where I came fro - Rick Sanchez / MiamiHipHop.org

"Crazy," the new joint from Ft. Lauderdale MC Protoman, tells the hilarious, surprising tale of a man driven to the edge of sanity by a woman. Isn't that always the way?
Produced by E.R., this uptempo track features vivid storytelling reminiscent of Eminem and ends with a twist that M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of.

Dade County and Broward County collaborate on this one. E.R. (of the Vagabonds) supplies the beat as Protoman supplies the vocals. You might know Protoman as being an underground staple in not only Broward and South Florida's hip-hop scenes, but also nationally as he's been well received around the country and also on many hip-hop blogs across the board.
Promotman's politically incorrect attitude and his "I don't give a f*ck" flow - definitely is refreshing to hear. When you need a break from listening to raps about bottle poppin' and club hoppin' - Protoman is always there to fill that void.

As far as the track, well, Protoman definitely goes in. Whatever you can imagine the perfect love song that ever existed sounds like...well, this is pretty much the complete opposite of that. And for this specific instance, it works. Its like a love story gone wrong. Terribly wrong.

Miami rapper Baysiqly and music producer E.R. are two artists that have putting in work for a minute in Miami's Hip-Hop scene. Together the duo have received a lot of attention over a recent song entitled "Space Music". We had a chance to ask them about what they've been up to since our last interview.
What they do yall? It's been a minute.
Baysiqly: Whats up, yeah it has. It's been too long but now we're back.
E.R.: Yessir...that's not gonna happen anymore. I just sat back and perfected my craft and sat back and studied this funny business we're in.
Last time yall had K-Otic with yall. What happened? No more DSI?
Baysiqly: There were some differences within the camp, we're all doing our own thing, but me and E.R. are a duo. He laces the beats, I rip 'em. But to further answer your question, NO, there is no more DSI sometimes people just gotta move on to other things.
E.R.: Yeah, pretty much there were some internal problems, not necessarily with me personally, but also our musical directions were growing apart. It worked our for the best for all of us though, it seems.
So word is yall been getting a lot of love with that track Space Music. Tell us a little about that.
Baysiqly: Space Music is my re-introduction. This time though, I'm bringing something new to the table. It was during May or June i believe i hit up E.R and told him I heard this track by Max Romeo one day and I had this vision of re-making the song with my worldly views. E.R felt what I was talking about and he cooked up the beat. As soon as I got it, I was on it. Space Music is the epitome of how I feel about the direction hiphop has taken.
E.R.: A blessing is what I see it as. Like you mentioned, it's been a GOOD minute since we've spoken. Life was holding me back for most of 2008/2009, so I was just locked in the studio perfecting my craft. No lie, as soon as I heard this, I knew we had something special brewing, and I sent him an album worth of material and he got to work. We threw this track out on the net just as a buzz record, and here we are, 12,000+ downloads with no promotional/marketing teams, just basic word of mouth and some local features.
Where can people download the mp3 to Space Music?
Baysiqly: You could find it basically anywhere on the net. The direct link is http://bit.ly/3dsfWc, which will direct you to a Limelinx link.
E.R.: In addition to that, you could find "Space Music" featured on many hip-hop blogs/websites and local Miami websites such as 305hiphop.
Now that we talking about downloading and stuff.. what are the links to all your profile and web pages?
Baysiqly: twitter.com/bysiqly, facebook.com/baysiqly, and myspace.com/baysiqly
E.R.: twitter.com/er305, facebook.com/er305, and myspace.com/er305. We owe a BIG part of our success to these three social networking websites.
And if someone wanted to holla at one of yall for a feature how should they go about it?
Baysiqly: Im on my Twitter and Facebook accounts the most, but you could also hit me up on my email at gogauthie@gmail.com or hit up my phone (305) 984-1752.
E.R.: They can hit up any of those links, give me a call at (305) 989-2256, or e-mail me at etother305@gmail.com, which comes right into my phone.
Ok now that we got that out the way what project was Space Music done for?
Baysiqly: Space Music is a promotional track for our upcoming album "Vagabonds", and also to get our buzz going in the streets again. We havent released a single for it yet. I feel confident about the project and it's a sound in which I feel Miami has yet to explore.
E.R.: Like Baysiqly said, originally it was for the "Vagabonds" project, but it fared better as a buzz record, and I didn't want to get into the industry headache of trying to clear a sample, especially one as known as this one. We decided to throw it on our free promotional EP that we'll be releasing around the time of this interview titled "No Gimmicks", which will be available online and out in the streets in different cities.
Did you do all the production on there E.R. or did you feature other producers?
E.R.: Yeah I handled 100% of the production. But I have to give Baysiqly credit because he came to me with the vibe he wanted, and the mood he wanted to create. Luckily what I sent him fit perfectly, and now "Vagabonds" is pretty much a rapper/producer combo album, which you don't really see these days.
How bout other artists? Any features?
Baysiqly: We are still working on the project and are looking into featuring other artists but we wanna make sure we collab with those who have the same vision as we do, not just that of success, but those who carry the same ideologies in their music as we do in ours.
E.R.: Yeah we are in talks with certain artists, but it's mostly singers for hooks and bridges. As far as the rapping is concerned, Baysiqly holds down the entire album by himself, except for two verses that I'm featured on.
So what yall have in the works fo - Fillup Banks / 305HipHop.com
From the upcoming Vagabonds mixtape, "V For Vendetta", release date yet to be released. Over Drake's "Fear" instrumental. - Napps / iBlog126
New York, NY, May 11, 2010—South Florida hip-hop duo The Vagabonds will be performing live at Miami's legendary Tobacco Road June 10th.
The group, comprised of rapper Baysiqly and producer E.R., will also be celebrating the release of their highly anticipated V for Vendetta mixtape that same weekend. V for Vendetta will be available in limited quantities at the performance and also for free download at The Vagabonds' official website, www.vagabondsmusicgroup.com, beginning June 11th.
The Vagabonds is a hip-hop duo committed to creating quality music. This is evident in recent singles "Space Music" and "Success," both of which struck a cord with music lovers the world over, netting over 30,000 cumulative downloads based on word-of-mouth alone.
In addition to working on V for Vendetta and their upcoming No Gimmicks EP, Baysiqly and E.R. have been keeping busy with collaborative efforts with various artists including fellow Miami rapper Colosus and Brooklyn based lyricist The MC Faceman.
The Vagabonds is a group following in the tradition of legendary hip-hop duos such as GangStarr, Mobb Deep, and Pete Rock & CL Smooth. Consisting of just one MC and one producer (who occasionally spits a verse or two), Baysiqly and E.R. share a chemistry and philosophy that enable them to combine socially conscious rhymes with lush, elaborate music production. Recognizing the absence of substance in music coming out of South Florida, The Vagabonds are stepping forth to fill that void.

Bio
VAGABOND - One who wanders from place to place, having no fixed dwelling, or not abiding in it, and usually without the means of honest livelihood; a vagrant; a tramp; hence, a worthless person; a rascal.
The Vagabonds consist of members E.R. (rapper/producer), and Baysiqly (rapper). Mixing E.R.'s unique production (mixing southern based drum patterns with melodic west coast flavor, and east coast sample chops), the Vagabonds are part of the generation known as "#NewMiami", spitting true-to-life tales and experiences of themselves and those around them with a sound that appeals to everybody from the biggest hip-hop heads to the most casual listeners. With E.R. (who is of Honduran descent) hailing from the poverty stricken East Little Havana neighborhood (as seen on many episodes of A&E's First 48), and Baysiqly (of Haitian descent), hailing from well the known North Miami section of town, fans not only get an authentic look into Miami life, but also a look into it's unique melting pot of different cultures.
So far, the Vagabonds have released two group albums, "Good Neighbors", and "#FML". Baysiqly released his solo "Leonidas" EP in the summer of 2012, E.R.'s recently released solo album, "Year of the Vagabond" started off 2013, and the two as a duo will release a new project in the summer of 2013.
Already performing alongside the likes of Big KRIT, Trinidad Jame$, Action Bronson, Schoolboy Q, Twista, Stalley/MMG, and Cy-Hi The Prince, headlining national events such as DunXchange and Sneaker Pimps, and headlining 35+ local rap shows in South Florida in 2012, the Vagabonds are blazing a trail from Miami's underground rap scene to the top of the national rap spotlight.
