"The unifying flower power of the 60s is reborn in the music
of this five piece German collective. The band is named for
lead vocalist Rebekka Dold, who's soft and soothing melodies
are reminiscent of a Joni Mitchell or Minnie Riperton. While
she doesn't venture as high into the register as either of
those two, this leaves room for the rest of the band to
breathe. They adapt a more modern, alternative style, a
nicely balanced track that allows everything from the vocals
to the guitars and bass to shine with equal vibrancy."

This project stands for humility in melody parts and a constant search for pop identities. The first EP “White Lies” from URBANproject has been discussed and reviewed positively by the music mag “guitar & bass” in December 2016: “The songs are rousing, alternative and indipendent in the best sense of the word. Their music is complex with surprising parts and beautiful melodies and sounds.”
Since 2015 the creative brains of URBANproject’s Pop Laboratory are guitarist & songwriter Urban Elsaesser and Yen Anetzberger (vocals / lyrics). Both describe their songs as acoustic-electric impulses, big melancholy, hearing fears, accepted uncertainty - and quietly falling leaves play a role: “It’s a mixture of gritty and dreamy melodies with stories of love and fear - with daring vocal parts - sometimes conventional, even spiritual, fascinating, detailed, dark and serene at the same time”.
