Bio
National recording artist URBALIST is a dynamic, no-holds-barred emcee who conveys a message of positivity through hip-hop music. A lifelong fighter, Urbalist has been turning hardship into hip-hop since he was a kid in New Jersey. He transformed family struggles, prejudice, and tough times into sharp and clever lyrics to battle other emcees. And when cancer struck, he used his skills as an emcee to beat that too. Urbalists music shows his unrelenting determination and offers a glimpse into the life of a multi-faceted artist.
In his debut album Cancerous Flow: Lyrical Journal and his latest release, the single Ill Be Strong, Urbalist waxes realistic with agile lyrics and effective production, both of which may be the fiercest you have yet to hear.
Due to his own struggle, Urbalist is also making a difference in the cancer survivorship arena. Cancerous Flow: Lyrical Journalrecorded while hospitalized with cancerchronicles his fight for life from diagnosis to remission, using inspirational lyrics and powerful rhymes.
By sharing his cancer story, Urbalist hopes to help others cope with their disease and to shine a light on the issue of cancer in young people. He has made and continues to be sought after for special appearances at hospitals and cancer foundations. Some of these include:
Im Too Young for This! Cancer Foundations 6th Annual OMG! Cancer Summit for Young Adults in Las Vegas (3/30-4/1/2012)
