Universal Soul Orchestra: Aboriginal Funk From The 11th Dimension
Combine a top jazz sax player/bassist and a cutting-edge DJ/programmer/didgeridoo player, add a lot of soul and you get Universal Soul Orchestra; a fusion of world, soul and funk like everything you love, yet like nothing you've ever heard.
Inspired by artists/performers like Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, Fela Kuti, Cirque Du Soliel, George Clinton, David Sanborn, John Coltrane and Miles Davis, the Universal Soul Orchestra takes music from across the globe and pours it into a blender to create its unique sound: an otherworldly mix of trance, down-tempo dub, soul, funk, reggae, electronica, aboriginal and jazz.
And it doesn't stop there... USO also reimagines the music of classic and contemporary artists such as the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Bob Marley, Miles Davis and Pink Floyd. Using the original classic recordings as a jumping off point, USO remixes the hits live and adds their own signature sound, giving the audience a brand new experience of their favorite songs. It's the music you've always loved, taken to a whole other dimension.
