JB is an independent rapper and songwriter from a small town in Long Island, NY called Hempstead. JB is a fresh face that is steadily rising in the music industry. Although he is an indie artist, JB has already worked and performed with some our mainstream contributors including Wale and Lupe Fiasco.
JB’s journey in music thus far has consisted of honing his artistry skills, building his network, and making music about his experiences. His smash single, “Nothing To Lose,” talks about being on the journey to success and the obstacles that may come your way. Some of those obstacles include growing up in an environment with violence and limited opportunities. He expresses wanting to relay the message that there are multiple options for success and that you do not have to be a product of a negative environment.
“’Nothing to Lose’ should let people know that they have something to prove to yourself, not to the world. I don’t believe in keeping up with the Jones’ or competing with people in your life. I more so believe in competing with myself and making sure that I’m the best product that I can be. Once people get that, then everything will come together.”

In an industry over-saturated with manufactured mediocre hip hop artists, whose every attempt to emulate their successors, is all but in vain, JB has been a very prevalent staple in the indie hip hop culture of Atlanta, LA, and Houston by staying true to his craft and the uniqueness that has made him a hot topic among his hip hop peers. With an amazing stage presence, and loyal fan base, JB will be taking his lyrical gifts to higher heights in his pursuit to become a global hip hop phenomenon. JB is unapologetically talented and is undoubtedly setting a new standard in hip hop. He is indeed one of the most lyrically gifted hip hop artists that we will see in 2014 and for years to come.
