”Turboweekend is back, and with their second album, they increase the effort and drop the antiques. With sharpened melodic and lyrical blades, they have cut a delicious slice of danish electro-stadionrock which makes their equally 80’s inspired colleagues from The Killers, taste like a sloppy burger with too much cheese and too little meat.”

”Turboweekend has been lighting up my ipod like a Christmas tree. A three piece group from Denmark, their debut album “Night Shifts” received many praises from the likes of blogs such as mine. (...) With the glaring falsetto and killer synths present in tracks like “My Name is Legion” there’s a lot to fall in love with and plenty of reason to keep an eye on them.”
Gaffa (DK - print)
”Among the best moments are the energy-compact Just to Get Down, remeniscent of a junction between Underworld and Daft Punk, and the low puls Shadow Sound, where especially the vocal harmonies are worth mentioning. It actually suits Turboweekend very nicely to detour a bit from their official party agenda.”

”When Turboweekend put out their debut NIGHT SHIFT, club-kids, indieheads and elektro-fanatics could finally join hands in joy.”

Bio
Turboweekend is a fourpiece band from Copenhagen, Denmark, founded in 2006 by classmates Silas Bjerregaard (vocals), Morten Kie (bas), and Martin Petersen (drums), adding Anders Mller (keys & synth) in 2009. They have released 3 critically acclaimed, gold selling albums in Denmark, and won awards as best newcomer, best innovator and best live act at national award shows. Through the last 6 years they have worked their way up from underground debutants to national headliners with a solid reputation for highly energetic and earth shaking shows. Their album Ghost Of A Chance from 2009 got a great deal of international blog attention, and the lead single Trouble Is got remixed by UK dubstepper Joker and trance mega star Tisto.
In January 2012 they shifted label to EMI Denmark, and their latest album Fault Lines went #1 on the national album chart on release week (June). The album has release commitment from EMI Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Belgium and Netherlands with release dates in September, and we are actively looking for agents in particularly US and Canada for the future.
The band says:
"Our live shows have come a long way since we started as a young club trio. Initially we were a dedicated club-act playing nothing but late-night clubbing gigs, with intense hit-and-run power sets, but after the first album came out in 2007 weve been playing mainly regular venues and festivals, and thats a whole different story. First of all the sets are longer, and you generally want more variation to keep everybodys attention. Second, the sound and setting of a big venue or a festival can carry a feeling that doesnt fit very well into a small, sweaty club. But this suits us very well as we get to play some slower, heavier songs also, and we can construct the shows differently than we would in a nightclub setting. In January 2009 we took in a fourth member to help out with keys and backing vocals live, and the step up is impossible to deny. It just gives everybody a lot more freedom on stage, especially Silas (lead singer)."
