Bio
Toy Daggers is a three piece indie pop/rock band from Toronto, Canada. Writing anthems of hope with dreamy melodies and raw, heartfelt lyrics, their sound is a blend of electronic stadium-pop and synth driven indie rock.
Toy Daggers is Kat Lucas, Fred Merritt-Gambrill, and Alex Marr. Kat and Fred both sing and play guitar, synth, and bass for live shows, switching up instruments to keep things fun and interesting. Alex plays drums and a sampler, holding down the rhythm, triggering the out-of-this-world electronic sounds from the recordings and also contributing to backing vocals. The three have a tight knit family vibe, which is evident in the way that they communicate on stage and vibe together as they play.
Between them, they are seasoned performers and have many years of experience writing, recording, and playing live with bands. Kat has been playing keys, guitar, and singing backing vocals in P!NK's touring band since 2009. She has played at arenas and stadiums worldwide, on television shows such as "Ellen", "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and "VH1 Storytellers", and at festivals such as "Hyde Park Wireless" and "iHeart Radio".
The band believes that music is a force that can make lasting change in the world. "For The Dreamers. For The Believers" - they write to help inspire people to hold on to their dreams and never let go of the vision of themselves and the world that they believe in. They hope that through their music they can restore faith in a world that seems broken, and remind people to choose love first. Always. They write from their own experiences and struggles, speaking to shared human experiences such as addiction and depression using poetry, rhythms and music to describe feelings and emotions the best they can.
Toy Daggers has released 4 singles so far, and look forward to releasing an EP in March 2017. Their song, "Wild And Free" is being played on various radio stations throughout Canada. They also do all of the artwork, photos and videos themselves and have been building a following of both local and international fans on social media.
