Bio
I had quite an adventurous childhood growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My parents made sure I was well educated and open minded. On weekends my mother and I would explore the past in the museum, and bounce from store to store, across bridges and through neighborhoods shopping for ingredients so she could cook up one of her legendary meals. My father provided me with just as much adventure. He enjoyed success as a reggae and rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter in the 80's and 90's. As a result, there was never a silent moment in our home. I was surrounded by guitars, old amps, and hand drums. Not to mention the constant stream of musicians from every culture that passed through my life, bringing with them the sounds of the world. It was this music and sense of adventure that has come to define me. At 18, I've been performing and writing for 5 years. Musically I am influenced by a wide range of styles. I've alway been captivated by the energy and excitement of rock and roll. I've also spent most of my life in love with the honesty and passion that is displayed by folk, singer/songwriter, R&B, and soul artists. In addition, the world music that I grew up with also plays an important role in my songwriting. My biggest influences include David Gray, Radiohead, Kings of Leon, Otis Redding, Lyle Lovett, Ray LaMontange, Stevie Wonder, Jack White, Spoon, the Killers, Paolo Nutini, Paul Simon and many more. Lyrically, my songs most often detail personal experiences and moments of self-reflection but in a way that is relatable to the common experience. I am currently living in New York City in order to attend St. John's University and pursue my career in music.
