Tip to Base, No Consequences (out now, self-released, facebook.com/tiptobase): Quirky and incredibly upbeat, Tip to Base offers funk fans an excuse to get up and dance. "Cut to the Chase," the standout track, is quick and bounces around while making it obvious the band is all about fun. - Seattle Weekly
Just about every bar in the nation will be having some sort of Halloween party, so why not spend the night in Seattle’s oldest bar? There is a trio of great local bands playing, and all of them have a very tight, smooth sound and relatively little press about them. Chyeah Cheah is a synth heavy, slightly psychedelic band with an 80’s alternative tones. One band that has repeatedly popped up on SSG’s Tonight in Musics is Ghost Town Riot. Both Billy and Nikki have suggested them, noting their great structure and harmonies. The last band on the bill is the Eastside’s Tip to Base. This band is a bit looser with their music, being primarily a funk band. While they lack the precision of Chyeah Chyeah and Ghost Town Riot, Tip to Base has a great roll to their songs that should get you into the groove. - SSG
Then there was funk. This is Tip to Base.
Ghost Town Riot ended the night with some indie rock.
Good times!

If your body requires a regular dosage of funkafize, then I highly recommend a prescription of Tip to Base this Friday May 20th at the Central Saloon in Pioneer Square. These are great buddies of mine that jam hard and loooove to funk. Chase lays down the funky fresh bass lines on the 5 string with a funk off attitude, I don’t use no pick. BJ rips it on lead guitar with waa waa sessions that leave baby’s crying, and women swooning as he smooth talks them through his TalkBox. Ethan wails away on the drums, and is totally in the zone making crazy reaches and transitions that are only possible with flexible attire, preferably a nice mesh or silk athletic short. The newest member TheJackalsaxking blows the meanest sax, and with a name like TheJackalsaxking you know he’s got the swagger to accompany. Last to add to complete the full funk link is mister Jiggitty Jiggitty Jeezy, Mr. Sean Jones, hittin keys while beltin out vocals that are o so strong and o so explicit to the faint of heart. - Music Outside the Umbrella
