End of 2006 the duo Thomas Heinz was founded by Thomas Schauffert and Heinz Ehrsam, with the goal to create a very personal common structure of sounds which guides the listener to a world full of dreams and pictures.

Thomas Schauffert and Heinz Ehrsam got to know each other in spring 2002 when Schauffert’s former pop-rock-band Jaywalk was looking for a new drummer.
Heinz Ehrsam was the first choice for this job from the beginning and after years of concerts and two CD-albums the two new that they will work very will together: “We realized, that music may only be created with the deepest conviction and with no expectations for success. Only the love to music, human beings and the creation counts in everything we do. It’s with this love out of which our music should develop”, explains Thomas Schauffert.

The fact that both understood each other so well from beginning is even more special due to the fact that both have a quite different career.
Thomas Schauffert started to play trumpet as a child. At the time when he had to stop his career as a tennisplayer due to an insure of his wrist, he was drawn immediately back to his other big hobby: making music.
That’s how with about 20 years of age in the military service, he started to write songs, learned to play the keyboards and experienced himself on drumming and sinning. In all the years this multi talent was inspired by artists like Louis Amstrong, Genesis, Andreas Vollenweider, Michael Jackson and enough of classical music.

The expert for beats Heinz Ehrsam come to making music a little later. At the age of 13 he started to play the drums, like this was done by a lot of children living in the villages around, at that time. His love for music was influenced by his brother. Pink Floyd, U2, Simple Minds, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel or Cock Robin are still today among the favorites of “The man with the feeling for good vibes”, how his musical second half Thomas Schauffert uses to call him.

The protagonists can trust into their big experience as musicians and the perfect match to each other.
Thus the music of Thomas Heinz lives especially from its hypnotic sounds, from melodies full of pictures and harmony and detailed and fine beats, which are developed by both, in total peace and with the time it takes. Without pressure of time, without pressure for success. Only this way the two can live their credo – Create music based on the pure passion to the power of sound and melody. Music that goes direct into the heart, because that’s where it comes from.
