"Allan Morrison The Hearld"

“James Graham of The Twilight Sad, James Allan of Glasvegas, Neil Pennycook of Meursault … Scottish indie has its fair share of male vocalists who sing with combined force and feeling. Now add This Silent Forest's singer-songwriter Graeme Macdonald to the list” // Alan Morrison (The Hearld) - The Hearld

"Radio 1"

“They’ll make you cry, they’ll make you rejoice, they’ll make you appreciate music on a deeper level... They’ve just built a penthouse on that sonic-edifice created by Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad and Broken Records...” – Muslim Alim (BBC Radio 1 Producer)

"This Silent Forest a Rare Beast"

Bio

In 2013 This Silent Forest released their debut album 'Indivision'.  This contains previously unreleased tracks and marks a progression in song writing style and attitude from This Silent Forest giving it a dynamic and at times aggressive feel. Recorded in Glasgow in 45-a-side Studios & LoFi Studios with Sam McIntosh, with final mix & master by Chris Gordon. This Silent Forest are a four-piece from Glasgow, Scotland. Purveyors of Power Indie taking influence from a shared appreciation of The National, Manchester Orchestra, Idlewild and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

A singer songwriter led four piece, one toe in modern Scottish folk another in joyous pop and a whole body in Power Indie. Combining an ability for sculptured melody and street corner tales with affections conjured from Bruce Springsteens broken American realism to REMs observations on the human condition with quarter given to forbearers Idlewild, Aerogramme & Frightened Rabbit. These are the songs born and bred of Scottish murk, dark humour and the triviality of lifes relationships.
