"When listening to an album, you can usually hear when a band was having some fun recording it. The vocals always exude a sense of eagerness and the instruments match this with a rush of excitement. Some bands embrace this and some don’t, but for the ones that do it does show. One band who has embraced this fun factor and burst out of the gates with their debut EP is Adelaide group, THE XO EXES. Their EP, ‘X’ displays a refreshing blend of indie rock written not only to please fans, but they’ve stayed true to themselves as artists too..." - Space Ship News
"The vocals are incredibly punchy; combining the nonchalant aggression of punk influences and the harmonising tendencies of post-punk..." - Rave Magazine

Bio
The X O Exes are like rehab for indie rock. They’re not afraid to have fun – mangling the melodies of a heartfelt story with fuzz-dripping guitars.
Dan Gaskin (vocals, guitar), John De Michele (guitar, vocals), Mark Beckett (bass, vocals) and recently acquired drummer Hayden Ryan are Adelaide’s very own, The X O Exes.
Between them, there are some impressive back stories, but the future is bright, so let's focus on that.
The 4-piece shamelessly display their long and sordid love affair with punk, indie, grunge, and caffeine on their 6-track debut EP entitled “X”. The band was hands-on with all elements of production, mixing, engineering, mastering and artwork for the release. “X” will be distributed digitally worldwide through iTunes, and will be available physically as a limited edition pressing. Not only that, but they’ve already managed to finish production on their follow up EP due out later this year.
The band is thrilled to be releasing something that encapsulates the passion, influence and talent which has shaped them as musicians.
Guitarist, John De Michele says, “During the writing and recordings, there was no agenda to be the coolest, most indie, most pop, most scene-friendly...most whatever. We just sat, wrote and recorded, and this is what we came up with. We did what made us happy.”
You can catch Dan, Hayden, John, and Mark on the road throughout the year as they play dates in support of the “X” EP.
