Bio
Joe & Ed Feighan trace their roots back through Whiskey Island, USA to Western Ireland. The Feighan Brothers grew up performing Traditional Irish Music. In 2004 they formed The Whiskey Island Ramblers turning their Irish Folk Duo into a Celtic Rock Band. Drummer/percussionist Tim Lane and accordian/keyboard player Justin Gorski joined the brothers and the Rambler sound was born.
The Whiskey Island Ramblers perform original and traditional songs with American Rock and World Music rhythms. The Ramblers tell a story of growing up in America - rooted in the culture of the Irish who arrived on Whiskey Island nearly one hundred and eighty years ago.
Whiskey Island lies at the gateway to Cleveland, Ohio, where the Cuyahoga River flows into Lake Erie. In Clevelands early days, Irish immigrants settled on Whiskey Island. In its heyday it boasted of having 13 saloons, a considerable achievement since it was only a mile long and a third of a mile across at its widest point. It was from the first and for many years remained the wildest, bawdiest section of Cleveland, - Irish Americans and Their Communities of Cleveland.
