Bio

Described by BBC Introducing as : "tight as the nethers of a duck, moving confidently between strident indie and down the line bluesy rock and roll!" This talented and hard working four-piece are winners of MTV's 'Get Seen Get Heard' talent competition and nominees up in the 2008 Vodafone Best Live Unsigned Band category. Their tight live act is powerful, with notable performances at London's KOKO and the Bristol Academy, their rammed set at last year’s Glastonbury Festival and the Academy Live tour earlier this year where they were chosen to represent Southwest bands. Recent gigs include O2 Academies in Bristol Glasgow Oxford and London, plus London City Showcase; The Great Escape; Liverpool Sound City and the Bath International Music Festival. They have been announced winners of the Academy of Contemporary Music/Beachbreak Live festival Battle to the Beach, where they win specialist industry attention. Chosen by BBC's Huw Stephens, The Volt has also played Radio 1's Big Weekend Fringe Festival and live BBC Introducing sessions. With plugged and ‘Spanking New’ sessions recorded at MTV studios, and their debut double a-side single 'Start Again' and 'Punches' released 4th May - this is definitely a band to watch!
