The Transact is an Indie Rock band from Tampa, Florida and have been performing since the middle of 2008. The bandÂ’s line-up consists of Derek Luna (vocals, bass), Dylan Buckley (guitar), and Cameron Luna (percussion). Their sound is composed of shearing guitar, driving bass lines, and rhythmic drum beats. With the several songs that they have already written, their first album will be completed by the end of this year(2011).
They have started out playing as a cover band in small restaurants and nearby pubs. Now they have expanded and began playing in venues in other cities. Hopefully with this kind of exposure, their music will be able to reach out and find new fans.
After The Transact has played their set at a show, people from the audience will come up to them and say how surprised they were to see such a young band produce such a mature sound. Usually with young bands, some have no idea what they want their band to sound like. But this is not the case for The Transact. They have found their sound and they also know how to keep it consistent.
Just like any other band, they hope to gain exposure, obtain a record deal, and to achieve success like their influences. New faces can lead into new directions.
