"Moody Blues' Mike Pinder on"

"Elizabeth" by The Strawberry Jam

"Good royal comment. It’s catchy, fun and a good drinking song! I give it five beers." - Mike Pinder (of The Moody Blues) - none

"TimeMazine - Autumn '08 Issue"

Did you know that Rock 'n' Roll is best served with jam? No? Well, here's a unique bunch of characters hailing from Sixties Underground Psychedelic London! Don't know if they were England's newest hitmakers, but one thing is sure, they're bringing the 1960's back to life. The band formed in 2006 and they intend to play fresh psychedelic British pop-rock! Epitomic rock numbers, catchy tunes and lyrics taken directly from the Strawberry Fields of their shaken minds! Just one look at some of the titles of their debut album and you will understand what I'm talking about. "Alice D", "Hide Your Stash", "A Girl Like Donovan", "I Like Drugs", "Keep A Little Jam In Your Heart". A psychedelic journey into the jar... Taste it!

Bio

Can you have toast without jam?

Can you have a peanut butter and jam sandwich without jam?

Can you have rock'n'roll without jam?

The answer to all of these questions is an emphatic 'NO!' and we’re left wondering how (supposed) rock'n'roll has gotten on so long without hip-shaking, hit-making Brits, The Strawberry Jam. United by a love of the spirit and sounds of bygone years, the band was birthed in a suburban London garage by childhood friends Nathan Noblett and Jerry 'Yorkshire' Pudding. Enlisting the services of co-worker (at a sheet-metal factory) and vocalist Wayne Roach with Wayne’s cousin John Elizabeth on the bass, the band decided to pool their resources and record a single, 'Strawberry Jam' which was released with a limited UK pressing in 2006. The band gig'd excessively that year resulting in their discovery by manager Yuri Tchekov who, in a short time, procured them a record contract with the Canadian record label Feret Hole Records.
