Bio

“I’ve got this way of getting my way. Give me something stable or strong to hold on to,” sings Chris Brian Moore in “This Way” a track on The State of How’s upcoming EP entitled ANIMAL. After a few attempts to break out to a wide audience, Chris Brian Moore, Marc Ispass, and Allen Peoples are sure of what they want and are focused on creating music that has its own identity, instantly recognizable, and enjoyably unforgettable.

Chris, along with bassist Marc Ispass played music together beginning in high school and soon after found relative success sharing the stage and studio together for a number of years. On the final album that was recorded, Moore was called upon to track lead vocals for the first time in his music-playing life.  Marc recalls of the situation, “It was a short track, the last one we wrote for the album. It was kind of a stylistic outlier, and we had gaps in the lead vocals. Chris stepped up and recorded his first lead part, foreshadowing a big change in his career, if not his life.”

Chris came around to pen his first song, basically composing a finely-nuanced orchestra of a pop song not too long after. Along with him was Allen Peoples a friend and familiar co-writer from prior projects.

A few years later, with maturity came wisdom. “I realized that I was thinking too much while writing and basically was just trying to cram too much in. For The State of How I really wanted to take a step back, stop worrying about that and concentrate on what creates just really good songs,” Chris says about his new mature and direct method of songwriting. “As much as I would be proud of something like 20 different melodies playing at the same time, I realized that I would be a lot prouder of something that people want to sing along to and is fun to play.”
