Bio
Formed by longtime friends and collaborators, Leo Francis and Mark Matkevich....The Spies represent the ever changing and evolving sound that makes music exciting. With the addition of Adrian Barrio on bass, the band self released, 'Old Ghosts' in 2007. After touring in the summer of that year the Spies began looking for a new drummer. In Winter 2008 Dylan Giagni filled the lineup and added a much needed backbone to the music. With the band complete they began writing and recording their follow up album (due Jan 2009) 'Televolution' at Sunset Sound in Hollywood. Influenced by a variety of genres and artists makes for a unique blend of rock that encompasses all other stlyes of music. The Spies sound is melodic and driving at times, and other times turgid and experiomental. The sound is constantly changing and evolving.... We are influenced heavily by the Beatles, Spoon, Wilco, Twilight Singers, Elvis Costello, Elbow, Archers of Loaf, and Mogwai to name a few.
