The Southern Green have set the Australian music scene talking with their stunning debut Single and Video “Beautiful Life”. A full 11 track studio album is ready for release in 2010.

THE STORY

The Southern Green (TSG) is a Country Rock band featuring Kellie Walker, Pat O’Donnell & Matt Ferry.

In late 2007 Pat and Kellie, originally known as “The Midnight Flyers” were looking to expand their band and welcomed talented guitarist and singer Matt Ferry aboard. Hence a new name “The Southern Green” was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

TSG soon developed a great rapport together with a magical blend of vocal harmonies and strong instrumental prowess.
The focus of the band in 2008 was to put together a strong repertoire of original material with the aim of recording and releasing a studio album in early 2009.
Entering Love HZ studio with talented producer Matt Fell in August 08 the Band set about creating their debut single “Beautiful Life”. Matt Fell, who has a real gift for finding what a song needs, brought out TSG’s strong and unique vocal sound.
The track also features co-producer Michael Carpenter on drums.

The Band released their debut single "Beautiful Life" in February 09. The Film clip receiving great reviews. ABC TV's "RAGE" named it Independent clip of the week and the song reached a healthy No.29 on the Country 100.

TSG follow the lead set down by their influences such as Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles and the Eagles. They follow the philosophy of having not just one lead vocalist in the band. Each band member sings lead vocals on the album bringing a rich diversity to their work.

THE BAND

Kellie Walker

Kellie is a prominent vocalist in TSG. She also features in the band on
rhythm acoustic guitar.
With a strong sense of melody and understanding of subtlety Kellie
holds her audience with her vocal prowess and stage presence.
Kellie is also a key contributor to TSG’s repertoire and features two self-
penned tracks on the band’s forthcoming album.

Pat O’Donnell

Pat is a key vocalist in the band and features on many of the band’s
upcoming albums tracks. He plays rhythm electric guitar in the band
and also features on piano.
Pat contributes a lot of the original material to TSG’s repertoire and
brings a wealth of experience to the band playing over the years in
some of Australia’s finest bands including: The O’Donnell Brothers & The
Flood.

Pat has a unique and strong guitar sound. Influenced by guitarists like: Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Mark Knopfler and Andy Summers.
