Bio
"Bands formed in high school rarely achieve long-standing success. The Sindicate is a significant exception. With a ferociously exciting sound inspired by reggae and grunge-rock, The Sindicate formed in senior year of high school out of eviction, when three members were kicked out of their parents house. They promptly moved in together, taking advantage of their vacated situation by throwing nightly house parties that became the talk of their Northwest hometown. The parties were epic, but they realized something was missing: a band. The Sindicate were formed to liven up a great party, and over one decade later they continue to pack in crowds with a fervent and invigorating sound.
Initially inspired by the West Coasts vast beauty, The Sindicate has evolved since their high school beginnings into a group that touches on a variety of powerful themes. Their upcoming album, Sasquatch, features the riveting single Decomposed, which expresses dismay over the automated direction of music today. The album isnt all social critiquing, though. Theres plenty of vintage party fun to be had. Whereas Moon Song shows frustration over the mass media brainwashing, the thrilling Sindicate Bomb shows The Sindicates party-hard beginnings. The track was written when they were in high school, and serves as an infectious embodiment of their roots.
On stage, The Sindicate is renowned for their energy and chemistry. The art of live performance is one they have been perfecting since their high school house parties in 2005. Within the past year, they have opened for Tomorrows Bad Seeds, The Wailers, Slightly Stoopid, and Street Light Manifesto. The Sindicate are also Northwest festival favorites, winning spots and prizes at 2011s Portland Hempstalk and 2012s Seattle Hempfest. With more shows to come this summer, The Sindicate is bound to make waves in support of Sasquatch, out July 6th.
With all four members being raised in very musical families, The Sindicates first several releases show an innately veteran musicianship. They released their debut full-length album, Generation Y, in June 2011, and followed it up with a three-track EP, Party Pressure, in December 2012. Both releases are available on Bandcamp. With Sasquatch being released this July, theres no knowing what party The Sindicate will take over next. Whats certain is that they will liven up the vibe of every venue or basement they play, just as their explosive hybrid of reggae and grunge-rock has been doing for over a decade."
