The Sanderlings

The Sanderlings are a 4 piece pop/rock band from Toledo, Ohio. Founded in 2006, they fancy themselves as “Four ordinary gents trying to make extraordinary tunes”, and this has truly been their goal. Continually learning and improving their abilities to craft catchy, yet intricate songs has allowed them the opportunity to support many prominent acts (The Gin Blossoms, The Heartless Bastards, People in Planes, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Ekoositc Hookah, The Hard Lessons, The Detroit Cobras, etc.) while drawing enough interest to headline their own shows throughout Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.

In 2010, the Sanderlings had to take an indefinite touring hiatus due to singer/lead guitarist Joshua Evans moving from Ohio to Oregon. The band has continued to write and record songs, despite the long distance. These efforts can be heard on the “Awesome Opossum Sampler” as well as the upcoming full length release “Awesome Opossum. Although, currently unable to play shows, The Sanderlings are still very much alive, writing their best music to date. This move, however, has changed their objectives.

The current objectives of The Sanderlings are as follows.
1. To write the best songs we are capable of
2. To make the best recordings we are capable of
3. To market and promote our songs to media outlets
4. To market and promote our songs to other artists
5. To Tour if opportunity presented itself

The Sanderlings have released 3 EP’s, 1 full length and are currently putting the finishing touches on their second full length album entitled “Awesome Opossum.” Recording has been an enjoyable process and much has been learned with each session. All recording has taken place at Firefly Studio in Toledo, Ohio with producer Brett Dennison. Sessions for “Awesome Opossum” began in 2009 and the album should be complete by midsummer 2012.
