The River Junction Band – Limited Edition EP (self released) :: One of the things that I love best about attending Canadian Music Week each year is all the stray records that struggling musicians leave lying around for someone like me to pick up—which I do. This five track slice of hot toe-tappin’ country honk one starts off a mite too slow for my liking but then the band wisely floors it to exceed the speed limit, which is where they always oughtta cruise ’cause that’s where they do their best gitbox pickin’ and violin pluckin’. Bonus points for having a dynamite he ’n’ she dual duet combo and inspirational lyrics like: “Born country, it ain’t hard to tell: my Mama was a Christian and my Papa was Hell.”

This column has been painfully neglectful of country over the years. It's time to apologize and show we mean it by featuring The River Junction Band.
The Lucan, ON group plays rock-tinged new country that focuses on country living and having fun. The band has spent the last few years entertaining packed crowds at summer festivals and fairs across the continent. They picked up the award for Best Country Act at the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards and played a packed showcase during the 2011 edition of Canadian Music Fest. They've also played bigger stages, opening for top acts including Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, George Canyon, and others.
New country isn't always the kind of genre that lends itself to discovering new talent before it's all over the radio. Do yourself a favour and look into The River Junction Band before they're all over the place so you can say you knew them before they were famous, and try to catch them at a festival this summer while you're at it.

The River Junction Band always rocks The Park. The RJB delivers a truly professional and extremely high-energy performance. RJB lives up to their reputation by delivering an impeccable performance with a broad spectrum of great country music, with a smattering of impressive originals like “Overdrive” and “Born Country”. Wildly personable between sets, their energy is truly contagious and proves to get even the shyest wallflower up on their feet and dancing. RJB has made lifelong fans and friends of all of us. They have been playing at Prospect Hill for 5 years now and have helped to make our Labour Day weekend The BEST end of Summer party!

TNR Productions Inc. has been producing live events and concerts in the Ontario market place for the last 18 years. We have worked with world class touring acts right down to bar bands. In August we presented Music In The Fields a one day country music festival. www.musicinthefields.ca
We booked The River Junction band on this show as support and were very much impressed. This act is organized, professional and talented. My experience has been that you often do not get all three with one act.
If you are looking for support or a headliner on a mid-size festival or club date I would strongly recommend using The River Junction Band. These folks are nice people and true show business professionals.

The buzz was in the air as the River Junction Band bus pulled in on the Friday night of Lucknow's Music in the Fields. The day of the show RJB captured the attention of the crowd the minute they stepped on stage. A high energy set got our first annual Music in the Fields off to a great start and set the level for all the acts to follow. If you want a successful event, make sure RJB is a part of it. Thanks Tammy, Dave, Derek, Paul and Dave for being a part or our first annual Music in the Fields. - Steve
Hi Tammy,
I wanted to thank you and the River Junction Band personally for attending the Curtis Cadman Memorial Walk on Sunday. I heard you were a hit (I knew you would be!) and really created a festive atmosphere at the event. Thank you for your help in making the event a success! I’m so sorry I missed it!!!
Can you please pass along my thanks to the members of the band? Would appreciate that!
Have a great summer!

Forget the country band stereotypes: The best way to describe a River Junction Band performance, is progressive, aggressive, rockin' country at its best. Boasting solid four part male and female harmonies, and drawing on influences as diverse as Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, AC/DC & The Rolling Stones. The result is country music with a definite edge. Coming off their win for "Country Group of the Year" at the LMA, and Nomination for "Country Group of the Year" at the CMAO's... the band continues to be in demand to bring its high-energy show to appreciative audiences and a growing fan base. They do this by maintaining a very busy performing schedule in the club and festival circuit. The band has had the pleasure of supporting such major acts as: Toby Keith, Big & Rich, Terri Clark, Blue Rodeo, Small Town Pistols, Aaron Pritchett, The Roadhammers, Travis Tritt, Julian Austin, Jamie Warren, Johnny Reid, Doc Walker, George Canyon, Beverly Mahood, & Tara Oram. Adding to the impressive line up that RJB has supported is Emerson Drive at 2011's Burlington Sound of Music Festival, they have supported for Victoria Banks, Jason McCoy, Lone Star and Blake Shelton at Lucknow's Music in the Fields.
RJB will be the "House Band" for the 4th year! At Music In the Fields In Lucknow Ont. Aug. 23 & 24th, 2013!!
Performing BOTH nights! Friday night with Blue Rodeo & The Heartbroken Also Sat. with Big & Rich, Dean Brody,Dallas Smith, Small Town Pistols, & Autumn Hill!
RJB was selected to perform at Canadian Music Week in Toronto Ont. 2011, 2012 & 2103!!! They performed to an amazing crowd at The Cadillac Lounge (first 2 years) on the Thurs. night of CMW, and in 2013 on the Friday night at the Cadillac Lounge, and has made a ton of new fans, and friends. With its busy schedule, it's wondered how the band found time to record a debut EP at EMAC Recording studios in London Ontario. The effort was produced by Robert Nation, and it garnered airplay at numerous stations in Canada and the United States. On-air interviews followed, and the EP sold briskly at RJB shows and on I-Tunes. RJB is getting ready to release their new single near the end of July. The band has just finished their very first music video recorded and produced by Replay Media in Toronto Ontario. (click on Video Tab to check it out!)
They have recorded 3 songs at EMAC in London Ontario, with Mr. Moe Berg producing, and is set to record 3 more with Moe within the next month, with a new single set to be released in late July.
The River Junction Band is honoured in being perennially nominated, and winning in 2008, and 2013 the award for "Country Group of the Year" at the London Music Awards. Nominated at the first ever CMAO Awards for "Group or Duo of the Year".They were also finalists in the "Best Live" category, and won, "Best Country" act at the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards. Although the most rewarding moments for the band are when they are on stage getting the audience rockin, and creating new fans along the way.
RJB has grown its reputation as a solid live act and they absolutely love to hit the stage.....if it's a great country band youre looking for .......look no further than The River Junction Band.
