Bio
The Loose Handle Band is a tight, energetic folk-rock group in the style of Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and Old Crowe Medicine Show featuring guitar, upright bass, banjo and mandolin. With melodies that ring so clearly, you’d swear you had always known them, and lyrics so honest and pure, you'll wonder if you’ve spoken them yourself. The Loose Handle Band offers truth and passion to anyone who will listen. Their songs are born of love, heartbreak, friendship, and hope. They honor the grit and soul of American music while offering the perspective of today’s youth in a beautifully genuine way. The Loose Handle Band invites you to share in their musical journey.
Our mission is to bring the simple but honest style of folk music back to a time and place that seems to need it. We are Boston based and play locally but long for a chance to travel and spread the love. We’ve had an exciting and interesting path so far which has led us to win Boston College’s Battle of The Bands competition and open for such artists as Jeff Leblanc and Sugar Ray. Favorite Boston spots so far have included Hennessy’s, McGann’s, and Think Tank but we will play anywhere that people will listen.
Because our music is acoustic we are easy to set up and we always draw a crowd. We are grateful to any venue that gives us a shot and we always leave the place buzzing. Try us out for yourself. See what The Loose Handle Band is all about and why anyone who’s seen us will tell you they love us.
