Bio
For almost fifteen years we have been one of Boston's most underrated, best kept rock and roll secrets.
Regardless, lots of folks have paid attention: We won the Jury Prize at Berklee College of Music's Battle of the Executive Bands; we played with rock legend John Mellencamp at a party a few years ago; we have performed hundreds of shows throughout New England, at such esteemed venues as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Fenway Park, The House of Blues, Irving Plaza, The Knitting Factory and CBGBs; and we have been the backing band for Ellis Paul and countless sold out 70s & 80s Tribute Nights at the legendary Club Passim in Harvard Square.
Boston Music Awards nominee JON SVETKEY –– the singer-songwriter who co-founded End Construction with Ellis Paul, Jim Infantino & Brian Doser and has shared the stage with Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Richard Thompson, Dar Williams, Shawn Mullins and Martin Sexton among others –– strums the acoustic guitar and sings. EVERETT PENDLETON plays electric guitar, harmonizes, and never stops moving. JACK CAVALIER and MICHAEL CAHILL hold down the bass and drums. ROB LAURENS (Kerrville and Columbia River New Folk winner) pounds the piano, organ and accordian. And TOM SIMONS also rips it up on electric guitar.
The 15 songs on our latest CD -- REELING DOWN A ROAD -- showcase a musical versatility and songwriting acumen unmatched by most bands. It's a rollicking trip through Americana –– infused with the sounds of driving rock, highway blues, heartland folk, urban country, 1950s rock & soul, and retro-1980s pop –– filled with the joys, sorrows, hopes, regrets and wonder of growing older. Kind of like Counting Crows and Ryan Adams hanging out with The Allman Brothers and Tom Petty at a backyard keg party. In addition to REELING DOWN A ROAD, we've released four other albums: TOMORROW TODAY (2006), SHINE (2004), SIMPLE AS THAT (1998), and ESCALATION (1997).
And, finally, just in case there's no other gig in town, we are also available to play corporate events, parties, weddings, ship launchings, etc., etc. Just as long as there's enough food for the drummer.
