Video Pick: The Life Electric "Daisy Fey" - UnregularRadio
Welcome to yet another edition of Artist Spotlight for this week! This week, we take a look at an up and coming Boston based band called The Life Electric. The group consists of Joey on lead vocals, Ben on guitar and keys, Luke on guitars, Cory on bass, and James on drums. The band has a neat and interesting mix of alternative rock and indie influences that when combined, create an even balance of harmony and composure that puts them on a different level than their peers among the other up and comers out there today. I saw these guys in concert a couple of months ago at PA's Lounge in Somerville and they put on an amazing show complete with some Weezer and Pixies covers that showed off their well roundedness as a band and their ability to add depth to their life performances that gives them notice among the music going crowd. With their debut album slated for release later on this year, keep a sharp notice on these guys as they'll be hitting the ground running hard from the get go upon the disc's release.
For more info on The Life Electric, head on over to the band's Facebook page and 'Like' it at www.facebook.com/thelifeelectric While you're there, you can check out a preview of "Rocky IV", a track that will be featured on the band's forthcoming debut release. The band can also be followed on Twitter by going over to www.twitter.com/thelifeelectric where you can get all the latest news and tour dates direct from the band! - Music Box Pete
It’s another installment of the Mondo Thursdays series at the Plough and Stars! Brought to us by Gozu’s Doug Sherman and Boston Emissions’ Anngelle Wood, the series brings acts to the cozy Plough for offbeat performances; they’re often stripped down, with diverse bills that feature bands you wouldn’t normally see playing together.
This time they’ve got The Life Electric, who sound like what you’d get if Action Verbs and Gold Star Morning got locked in room and started jamming, because that’s exactly what they are; The Bean Pickers Union, with their twangy, country-fried Americana; and DJ Olive Loaf spinning the hit sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s into the night. As always, we recommend you get there early to score a seat, a Moscow Mule and a Cuban sandwich. - Boston Band Crush

Bio
While The Life Electric had only been an official band for a few short months, their debut self-titled album, released in May 2012, was the culmination of well over a year-and-a half's worth of work.
Having written, recorded, and started to mix the album a year ago under a different moniker, the band was faced with tremendous adversity when a key member stepped away, leaving the rest of the band with fully-recorded songs, no lyrics or melodies, and no idea what to do next.
Little did the band know, however, that help was soon on the way. New front man Joey brought new life to the band and its songs, restoring the band's faith in the original music they had written -- The Life Electric was born.
