"... the gorgeous sounds of The Leaky Diamond often find it soaring in and gazing at the stars instead of gazing at its shoes. The Leaky Diamond is right up there with the masters My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and others. The only exception is that it's done by one person playing an acoustic guitar..." - Whirlybird Review
"He makes a damn racket downstairs about twice a week. I can't hear, but I sure as hell can hear him. The boy can sing okay, but the rest of it sounds like a damn box of noise to me." - Mr. Breener is my upstairs neighbor. He is a nice, crusty little sailor man. I love him and his wife makes me yummy cookies. - Mr. Breener

Bio
The Leaky Diamond is the brainchild of Casey Grimes(former drummer for Jonathan Taylor Rose, Conquistadors, Sunday Drivers, etc...). It all started in 2001 in Tempe, Arizona as Casey Grimes, then primarily a drummer, started writing his own songs on an old acoustic guitar someone left at a party one night. Being obsessed with bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, The Cocteau Twins and others that were definitely not acoustic, Casey bought a nicer acoustic guitar as he had grown accustomed to playing and writing on one and an amp along with many guitar pedals that were heavily used by the bands he loved. Combining his love for this ethereal and spacey music along with the unique pairing of an acoustic guitar and lots of guitar pedals, the original sound of The Leaky Diamond was born. Casey soon started playing regular gigs in the Phoenix, Arizona area and one move later in the Los Angeles area. After about a year in the Los Angeles area, Casey moved back to his hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas to help with the family business. Soon thereafter he began playing drums again for local bands. Wanting to do more than just drum, Casey soon started playing shows regionally and again in the Los Angeles area. This time he added loops, percussion on his guitar and other unconventional elements to his live show, mesmerizing all audiences he plays for. Casey is also commited to the DIY ethic by recording his own music and creating all cd artwork and merchandise himself. The Leaky Diamond remains one of the most unique and poingnant sounds in the area and has garnered the title as "purveyor of narcotic ear candy" by its peers. Definitely not your typical singer/songwriter faire, The Leaky Diamond pushes the limits of what one person can do musically and what music is meant to be. Turn off the lights, close your eyes and listen.
