"The [Ancients] have a great Blues Rock sound in the tradition of many of the bands that we play on SRrocks.com. I know I can be real tough on bands with Female vocals but I was very impressed by the unique signature vocals of Brittany Staub. As a band they have a great blend of harmonies. " - SR Rocks - Bernard Overly
"With guitars, pianos, organs and horns all featured throughout the album, the band’s sonic palette allows for some great instrumental improvisation. Just don’t call them a “jam band.” - Justin Pope, Trenton Times (Aug 24, 2012)

"Nice crafty original music, and all great players too. They're a great live show and I really enjoyed sitting in!" - Glenn McClelland, Keyboardist of Ween; Blood, Sweat and Tears
"The first thing that jumped out to me with The Late Ancients is the harmonies. It reminds you of some of the great classic rock bands of the 60's and 70's yet it doesn’t sound old."

Bio
Founded in the summer of 2011 by guitarist and songwriter Pete Beck, The Late Ancients are one of the hardest working bands in Philadelphia. Drawing from their influences, the band combines Traffic-like Psychedelic anthems with unique songwriting and vocal harmonies that bring you back to the days of CSNY.
This modern twist to a classic sound originated in Bucks County with guitarist/songwriter Pete Beck, bass player James Hill and guitarist/vocalist Brittany Staub. Shortly after forming and playing a few shows, the band was joined by keyboardist Mark Brown of the Baltimore-based jam band The Bridge. Working with several different drummers over the past 2 years, the band cut their self-Titled debut LP in August of 2012. They continue to work hard as they play shows and festivals in PA, NY, MD, DE and WV, with more dates and cities planned for the near future.
Along with a busy show schedule, The Late Ancients hit the studio again this summer to record their second full-length record with all new material. The album is set for release on October 22. You can find their music on Itunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp and CD Baby.

"I first encountered The Late Ancients during a show at the Grape Room, probably about a year ago, and was absolutely blown away. Not only did they have a sound that I quickly fell in love with, but every member of the band was clearly a top-notch individual player. It was also refreshing to see a band with a female lead vocalist, as very few Philadelphia rock bands showcase a female fronted sound."
