Weaving classic tones from Melbourne's fertile live music scene of years past with new age sounds gathered from across the globe, the band's intention is to find resonance with the hedonistically self-indulgent time traveling philosopher in all of us by translating complex ebbing moods into musical compositions through subtle nuances and juxtapositions of aggressive distorted bass, reverberating guitar, punching drums, sweeping synth and gloriously raw vocal performance that only gets better live. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, singer/guitarist Sebalius Belle has been straddling Melbourne and LA since moving from Brooklyn, New York in 2008 to continue his global search for musical soulmates. Initially disillusioned with LA's flourishing yet seemingly timewarped music scene and after a brief stint in a 2-piece outfit he met Vuvu on Craigslist, and the songwriting chemical reaction began. Years of frustrated musical expression were released over the next several months during meticulous sake-infused songwriting sessions that lasted into the wee hours, with much of the lyrical ramblings coming from an Australian's perspective of LA and its kaleidoscope of characters. Days were spent buying and returning a plethora of guitars, amps and pickups that resulted in the band crafting its own unique sound while retaining distinctly classic overtones from several different eras of music reaching back to the 70’s. It then came time to take their art to the world. The band played a couple of low key gigs in Hollywood with a visiting Italian metal drummer under the name Unfiltered Nasty. With excellent responses from those shows they put together a quick set of demos with fellow Aussies and good friends and multi-instrumentalists Andy Clockwise playing drums and Nick Mayberry from Perry Farrell's band throwing in a couple of ripping guitar solos and key riffs that resulted in a collaborative genesis for the band. The band is looking to SxSW to gain management, label, booking, PR representation. Cheers
