"Identity Crisis: Aliens, Beduins, and Leos is an incredible cosmopolitan listen!"

The album is beautifully produced and laid out. Had a listen (many, actually) and it fascinates to think that it's so diverse from one song to the next, as a compiled set of palettes of paint, yet all linked somehow together [maybe, that's why the CD is called 'Identity Crisis'?!]. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will be showcasing it in the next run of The Best of...Music! - The Buzz

Identity Crisis: Aliens, Beduins, and Leos - Iambic Dream Project

By Clovis Monkey

Identity Crisis is the well-chosen title of London Based Iambic Dream Project's first album. Well chosen because it highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of this rich and eclectic album.

While we're at it, the brainchild of producers Wael K. & Raz Kennedy, The Iambic Dream Project is itself well titled, as the common elements uniting all the songs on offer here are poetics and vision. This is highly crafted, top of the range mood music - it's not going to get you dancing on a Saturday night, but it may well get your imagination in gear on Sunday morning!

Identity Crisis because there are over 50 perfroming artists on the album, and songs range from the big-band jazz of Flying Solo through to the gentle asian lilting percussion of Trails of Nepal (part 1) (winner of a Music Aid songwriting and production award). It's a bold and brave choice, given that most albums feature at most two/three vocalists - and one that, on the whole works. It may be the timbre of the production, or shared themes (identity, creativity, loss), but there's a common thread that holds the most disparate parts together - or maybe it's just that there's consistently good music on offer here, to the point that the 'identity' isn't an issue.

That's the optimistic take on the album - the marketing people will probably have a different view, though, given the amount of styles and voices on offer. There is the danger, slight though it is, of overwhelming the listener with the panorama on offer.

That's for the marketing people to worry about, though. This listener is more than happy to take the trip (in all senses of the word) with the Iambic Dream Project! - Three Monkeys Online

"REVIEWS THAT ROCK!!!"

The following songs were recently & anonymously reviewed by fellow Singer/Songwriters, Musicians, and Record Producers, etc. on www.broadjam.com. "Anonymously", in this case, means they selected a genre of music to review and were randomly given one of our songs without knowing the title or who it was by. In other words, we didn't & still don't know who they are, and they didn't get to find out who we were until they'd submitted their final review. Pretty cool, eh?

"Hero Worship" reviewed by a Songwriter & Record Producer: "Wow. I'd buy this song and add it to my "LOUNGE" I-pod Playlist alongside Everything But The Girl. I loved the lyrics in this song. Never expected anything like it from the intro. A very nice piece. Every single line was unique and made me want to hear more. The lyrics could be taken as a joke perhaps to some but I was very entertained by the lyrics and vocal. The added female range harmony part in the hook paned left was great. The sounds used all worked well together and nothing felt out of place or wrong once it got going. I liked the use of horns in the end to crescendo the whole thing. Loved it. I'm gonna listen again... On second listen I'd also like to note the nice recording on the vocal. Nice guitar work. Nice everything. Good work."

"Hero Worship" reviewed by a Record Producer/Studio Musician/Songwriter/Engineer in Australia: "You guys are right on it - production is hot, songs are quirky. Just waiting for the big signing that will make you a household name!! I bet you're from Europe."

"Angelina" reviewed by a Songwriter & Live Performer in Illinois: "Best song I've heard on Broadjam in 5 years. Awesome all around. I've been on Broadjam for 5 years, and this song just knocked me over. Wow! Only con is you probably don't live near me. I would definitely have liked to have recorded with you. Will go to your page after review to listen to more."

"Mistaken Identity" reviewed by a Record Producer, Publisher, Agent/Manager/Promoter, Song Writer: "Great originality - excellent stylization - moody and sexy with a sharp distinction that tells a cool tale with both music and vocal beyond lyric - repetition manages a rare beneficial feel in lyric - highly marketable in a variety of film, TV, and mood-piece underscore - excellent vocal mixing and levels - seductive nature, quiet draw - top notch work for its hard-to-peg genre."

"Flying Solo" was reviewed by a Songwriter & Live Performer: "Infectious in a good way! Really well done, and fun for the listener."

"The Boys of the Blvd." was reviewed by a Musician: "Pro sounding production, cool, stylish girl backup vocals. Lead singer is captivating in role, whispery but lucid, tellin' hard luck story about a kid on the boulevard. Intelligent lyrics, good story. The beat & melody are exceptional. Ending a touch mild perhaps, but good."

"The Trails of Nepal (Trail 1) was reviewed by a Studio Musician, Record Producer, and Songwriter: "Nice intro. Great, dynamic vocals. Super work. I thought I would make that comment that it was too long, but it sustained well with enough developments"

"Blue” was reviewed by a Songwriter: "I love the synthesizer, wonderful melody, reminds me of Steve Winwood, beautiful voice. I really like this song a lot, makes me feel good."
