We are a 5 piece band that originated in Hopatcong, New Jersey. Hopatcong is a small town in Northern New Jersey where all of us grew up. We started out as a 4 piece band known as Le Strums in highschool and would practice in Sam Ciardi's orange room. It was not until Guitarist Chris Chasty came along in college that the Grifters were created. We pride ourselves on playing all different kinds of music so if your a fan of rock, reggae, or alternative we have a song for you. Some of our members are influenced by rock and metal bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Rush while other of our members are influenced by softer tunes such as The Beatles, The Strokes and Bob Dylan. We are all currently living in New Brunswick, New Jersey where we attend Rutgers University and play shows whenever we get the chance. We have played in venues such as The Stone Pony, Don Hills, National Underground, The Stanhope House, and The Whiskey Bar. We are in the process of recording some of our new songs as well
as other new songs.
