"ALT Sound - NXNE show review - Toronto"

"On stage was 'The Gods Of Now' from Montreal they were great, I have to say finally a metal band that delivers bringing a new school flavor to an old school metal sound, so loving it. As I was recording a tune the reverb of all the guitars and screamage almost broke my camera the vibrations were running through my body, too much rock, my camera couldn't handle it. These dudes were ridiculously good, the guitars were phenomenal, the riffs were wild, it has been a very long time since I heard an actual Metal band that play what they claim. A little egotistical lyrically but they gave their heart and soul to the crowd; they loved playing, extremely visible as they ripped the stage. The only thing that I was not feeling was the lead dude vocals, in some tracks he sounded too whiney but he tore it up with the harder yelling and growls. It was an unforgettable set the band's sound I love."

"Godin Guitars endorsement - Montreal"

"Godin Guitars is proud to announce that they’ll be backing "The Gods of Now" on their upcoming album currently being recorded at Montreal’s Moonbabe Studio. Endorsee, songwriter/producer Schrecker will continue his mission to wrench and tear at aural time travel and sonic mind control. When asked about his Godin LGX-SA as a writing tool Schrecker said “With three outputs and endless combinations of the result, the Godin LGX-SA is the instrument equivalent to standing at the edge of the universe; there are no limits, only possibilities.”"

"Musik Universe - Show Review (in french) - Montreal"

- MusikUniverse.net

"The Gazette - Broken CD Review - Montreal"

"Besides blood, what’s that in the NDG water? In the wake of the punk nailbomb Trigger Effect comes this ballistic prog-metal attack squad. You know how some heavy or extreme bands lock into a riff-groove and work it until the last goat is hung? These possible sociopaths are the polar opposite, blowing up the sound into a lurching, shattered hall of mirrors. Shrieking singer Schrecker is either acting or has issues, with a half-dozen miscreant voices jabbering through that broken mirrorhall. The album then anti-socially breaks down into ‘evil’ soundscapes in its middle portion. May have to digest this one for a bit. ***

Bio

Fans describe The Gods of Now as a heavy band that infiltrates your eardrums. Their influence of scorching vocals, intricate rhythms, melodic guitar solos and thundering bass combine to form an anthemic signature sound. With a live show that is intense and all encompassing. Hearing & experiencing The Gods of Now live is to realize that their talent is meant for music lovers on an international platform.

After their cross Canadian tour in 2008 the band has created a lot of reactions and interest all over Canada. Either hated or loved, one thing we can all agree on is that they leave no one indifferent. The intense storm of vicious guitar attacks, frenzied vocals, hammering drums and frenetic bass guitar of The Gods Of Now live show and their debut album "Broken" has placed the Montreal-based quartet on the musical map as mad, genius and wonderful. Their music is heavy, visceral and most importantly, you’ve never heard anything like it before.

Nominated in 2009 year at the Barrie New Music Fest (Canada) and Vox Pop winner at the Independent Music Awards (USA), The Gods Of Now are to be watched closely. They have performed in the major cities all around Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, etc.) and on stage, those guys will impress even the most demanding fan : they rock hard & loud.
