This song and sappy sweet. It is 80's infected pop. All the way. No shame. The gentle bravado when in the low range of the vocal, climbing tones as bridges, proper BPM. You can make so many justifiable comparisons. Coming to us from Seattle, you can sample all their tracks over at their site. The song makes me happy. - Austin Town Hall
Here is our first repeat artist at the IT Department. I like this album a lot and this is how the band chose to close it out. It is a track quite a bit different from others on the disc. It is smooth. It is long enough to satisfy, it is short enough to make you want more. Lovely balance, I especially like how the mix keeps the vocal pulled back. A lot of promise in this outfit out of the Northwest…

Seattle, Washington band The Fascination Movement that we wrote about back in 09' here have a new single "Interaction." Just as everything I've heard from them it is top notch! Complete with vocoder it is a full on disco dance floor rager. - Off the Radar
The Fascination Movement is my new favorite local band. They just released their debut LP “Intent”. I love every track and just bought the album. I suggest you do the same. Enjoy the sound, it’ll make your day! - Trashed Magazine
Seattle dance pop band The Fascination Movement has a great new single out called “Interaction.” It was just released, and it’s quite cool. It’s a seven minute song that reminds one of New Order and Daft Punk on first listen. It’s made for a dance floor with its emphasis on a consistent beat and some robotic vocals. - Another Rainy Saturday
This Seattle band’s debut full-length is a first-rate set of ‘80s-inspired synth-pop reminiscent of New Order, Depeche Mode and OMD, combining propulsive dance rhythms, crooning vocals, catchy synth hooks and soaring pop melodies. 7/8/2011 -Don Yates - KEXP
Let’s just immediately file this under the category electronic pop. The Fascination Movement, a great new band you’d fully expect to come from some small seaport in France, are surprisingly from another seaport: Seattle. Sonically, they may sound from another place, but we do know at least one of the band members played bass on the new Fleet Foxes album. Signed to German label Aube Records (known for their high standards in electronica), The Fascination Movement take the label in an exciting new direction with their debut album, 0.5, which should get the Aube fans dancing a little more than they’re used to. The music itself is a mix of synth beats and melodic pop tinged with electronica, purposely built to defy genres. Mix in some old-school New Order with Cut Copy and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect. It feels like the 80's all over again! - KEXP
Dust off your dance shoes and unroll your skinny black tie. The synthpop/New Wave sounds of Seattle’s The Fascination Movement hits all the right notes on their debut album, Intent. Today’s featured song, “New Light,” is the faux-happy love child of New Order and Kajagoogoo with its crooning vocals, happy electro beats, and pleasingly plucky melodies that belie the darkness of the lyrical content. You can catch them tonight in Fremont at The White Rabbit with Gems. It should be one heck of a dance party. - KEXP
The Fascination Movement, Copy, Recess
Seattle act the Fascination Movement take a reverent (and sober) approach to recreating that golden age of new wave, with neat arrangements of perfectly plinking synth arpeggios, hollowed-out keyboard pads, and vocals that alternately recall Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and New Order (weirdly, on "Runaway," the vocals sound like nothing so much as contemporary revivalist Paul Banks of Interpol). The Fascination Movement's is a classic sound done with impeccable care. The Fascination Movement make moody, painstakingly sculpted vocal synth pop. ERIC GRANDY

Bio
“One of the most promising bands I’ve heard in a long time. See, hear and enjoy this band ASAP.” - John Richards KEXP
The Fascination Movement creates immaculately crafted synth pop songs fashioned for the future. Formed in 2007, this five member group mixes the musical vocabulary and resonances of new wave and italo with a modern sensibility. Up-tempo, shimmering synths and soaring guitar combine with moody and sultry vocals, underscored with a driving bassline that is as perfectly at home on the dance floor as on the radio.
Both The Fascination Movement’s debut EP, 0.5, released on renowned electronic music label Aube, and its first full-length album Intent, released in 2011 on Monastery Records, garnered accolades from music critics and fans alike, with comparisons from early New Order and OMD to Cut Copy and LCD Soundsystem. The Fascination Movement has also been embraced by local and national indie radio stations, including the selection of “New Light,” the first single from Intent, as KEXP’s Song of the Day.
The newly released single “Interaction” showcases the band’s inspiration and vision, featuring renowned northern soul singer Patrinell Staten Wright in her first single appearance since 1969, as well as Johnny Conga, the former percussionist of Cerrone. Also accompanying the new single is a remix and collaboration with Lovelock (Steve Moore of Zombi).
Regularly playing and sought after by local venues (Neumos, Chop Suey, The Crocodile), The Fascination Movement’s live shows do not disappoint. Showcasing their musicianship, preaching to the synth pop faithful and converting the secular to the church of new wave, the Fascination Movement ‘s catchy melodies have the audience singing the choruses while packing the dance floor.
