The Controver Sea began in January of 2004, with Josh and Aaron writing songs together and playing out shows with various members to back them up over the past 5 years. Lucio joined the band in December of 2005 after seeing them playing as a three piece. Having four different drummers over a span of five years, they finally landed Stan, after having him record three of eight songs off of their most recent EP, Virtue/Vice, which was released May of 2009. He officially joined the band and played their first show within less than twelve hours of learning the set due to their previous temporary drummer having emergency tonsil surgery the day before the show.
Since then, old material has been polished, new material has been written, and a new sense of organization and urgency has engulfed the band to create a passionate and emotionally filled set of strong, gripping rock songs that emulate the feelings the band has for its craft and pull the listener in with the band that emotionally interacts the crowd with the music to make them want to change: emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually to do something great.
Highlights:
