Riley’s Tavern has some great music on tap for the week, starting tonight with Keith Moody and the Cody Hayes Band. I tracked Hayes down at his home in San Antonio to talk about the band and their upcoming shows. “I got to Texas by way of Memphis and the Florida Keys,” Hayes said. “I’m from Memphis, then moved to the Florida Keys, played Buffett tunes in the bars there and finally settled in San Antonio. I love it here and the musicians I’ve met are very serious about their music. My band has been together about eight months and we really clicked. I love the music we’re recording now. We’re almost done with our new CD and we hope to have it out by the end of August.” Hayes and the band will be at Riley’s tonight and will be at Tavern in the Gruene on Thursday for Hayes’ birthday bash. If possible, check these guys out. They combine outlaw country with a healthy dose of classic rock. Dale Watson, one of the last true traditional country artists in the business, closes out the week at Riley’s with a show Saturday night. - Herald-Zeitung
The Cody Hayes band fuses various elements of intrumental style and lyricism, ultimately creating their own unique, smooth sound. Blending rock and country into contemporary times, Cody Hayes delivers raw, "everyman" lyrics, spinning stories that real people can relate to in very real ways. - Johnny Beard of Weird Beard Productions
Just wanted to say that I enjoyed the tunes. What I like is it doesn't sound like everyone else. Keep doing your own thing and you will be noticed someday. - Tommy Gallagher Band
The Cody Hayes Band is a rockin' red dirt country band, with cool lyrics and driving rhythms. Not only that but these guys are very easy to work with.

Bio
With their musical roots spanning decades of Country, Blues and Rock, The Cody Hayes Band delivers an eclectic musical experience. Inspired by the Red Dirt movement and their acceptance of combining these usually divided genres; The Cody Hayes Band was formed to play music without the contemporary limits generally placed on Country music today. The music is presented in a high energy performance that leaves no doubt about their passion for their music and their friendship on and off the stage.
