The Clergy

Emerging from the depths of the Atlanta comes an unconventional, spiritually driven, multi-talented group of artist named The Clergy. With the release of their debut album Time (Summer 2009), these eccentric emcees/artist/producers/writers are poised to gain attention in the Hip-Hop/Gospel market. The group is comprised of multiple artists with skill sets including writers, producers, dj’s, rappers, singers and dancers. The founders and main driving force behind the group are Ricochet and Blessed. Born in Atlanta, Blessed grew up in a poverty-stricken neighbor hood that gave him a strong work ethic and a certified testimony. Always seeking to share his testimony, he focused on his passion, music, and after years of musical studies, he found his calling in producing records and writing songs. Ricochet was born and raised in Los Angeles, and later moved to Atlanta, where he experienced life in such a way that would one day lead him to sharing his story with others in a way that would inspire thousands. In October, 2007 “Clergy Productions” was the first artist to be featured twice on the Holy Hip-Hop Compilation: Taking the Gospel to the Streets V.5 “Trust on me” by tabsoul, and “Snap Bounce” by The Clergy, and was voted by thousands to be featured on V.6 “Hello” by Blessed, which was released in October 2008. With a vast history of live performances, The Clergy has recently shared the stage with Gospel stars such as Kurt Carr, Canton Jones, and a full host of others. Without over preaching, the content of their music exemplifies conscience thoughts and unique ways of delivering the gospel, while keeping the listener entertained and intrigued. With the God given talent and testimonies destined to touch the lives of millions, The Clergy aims to continue to grow in Christ and share gifts with the world. They are currently unsigned, yet aspiring to do whatever it takes to ensure that the quality of music in today's mainstream is filled with God's love, and is a positive encouragement for all people
