The Blues Brats
Evolution of The Blues - Demo
Review by Georgetown Fats
The delineation between blues and rock & roll is a fine, but blurry line and often very subjective. While it is an entertaining academic exercise to continue the debate, there are times when it is just much more fun to hit the dance-floor and get caught up in the moment.
Hailing from Northern Massachusetts/Southern New Hampshire, The Blues Brats are a dynamic power trio blending blues roots with an 80’s hair band vibe. The unique feel and sound is a product of over 50 combined years of professional gigging. Guitarist/vocalist Donnie Reinhold combines his bluesy vocals over a hard rock guitar, while bassist Matt Vermette and drummer Mike Thibeau are all rock and roll with their thunderous backbeat.
Be sure to check out the original track “Cheap Wine”, with guest vocalist Greg McSpadden, or the funky original “Say No”. Better yet, just catch them live and enjoy their high energy performance.

We are not worthy!
For years, the talent that each of you have thrown arround the seacoast and having it come together like this must be the greatest feeling..........Im not kidding when I say this, and mark my words, You three have brought together the next greatest of the greatest blues/ rock sound that people have been waiting for. I hear a little Stevie Ray too. I always knew Donnie had to be the voice. Beside the fact that he always had the talent to do it , now he doesnt have to worry if the lead vocal can sing the song the way it should be sung or for that matter if the singer will even show. Im sure it must take away alot of the mental anguish that serious band members can do without. Well Im looking forward to buying the first 8- track...when it becomes available. Sorry about that Im still living in the 70s? Ah 8 tracks ,4 tracks w/4 songs per track, they kept going and ......................going! - JT Jam Factory
Donald Reinhold (lead guitar, vocals) leads this brat pack of blues players with his Hendrixian-styled guitar that sounded wonderful as drummer Mike Thibeau and bassist Matt Vermette pounded down the walls of WinCAM in Winchester, Massachusetts on November 1, 2010.
This 9 song CD with songs written, arranged and produced by Donald Reinhold features the very excellent "Stingray", track 8. It is a standout and the group should release it as a single. Greg McSpadden guest sings lead vocals on "Cheap Wine", "Longing", "Sticky Bread", "Say No", "Soft Soul Shoes (version 1) and Sting Ray. Don sings on "No Best Friend", the second version of "Soft Soul Shoes" and the final track, "Say No". Check them out on YouTube. After the group's excellent set at Wincam on November 1 (thanks to producer Jeff Dearman introducing this group to us), I got to interview the trio. They've got the Cream/Jimi Hendrix Experience vibe and certainly have the chops to rock the weekend nightspots. The band exceeds their/its CD in performance - Joe Viglione-Joe Vigs Top 40

Bio
The Blues Brats are a mix of blues based rock, funk, fusion, soul, with twists of Latin rhythms, blues chops and a hair band vibe. Their live stage craft is delivered with passion, soul and sacrifice. The trio takes the audience on tours of life, love and emotion, through obvious heartaches and personal experiences. The show is full of soaring guitar solo's and a solid rhythm section that holds down the beat. The BluesBrats are a profound blues rock power trio. An extremely tight band made up of only 3 members. On lead guitar is Donnie Reinhold, a 25 year veteran of the blues. He has been in countless bands that ranged from 80's hair band days to classic rock and modern rock. Donnie's greatest influence, clearly heard in his playing, is Jimi Hendrix, among of a multitude of influences ranging from; Steve Gains, Dicky Betts, Clapton, Carlos Santana, Frank Marino, Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and the endless list of the many legends.
On drums is Don Reinhold's prodigy son..Jermery Reinhold, an experienced drummer and skilled guitarist, a solid heavy handed player with roots undeniably in the blues funk and metal genre, influences range from Dave Lombardo, Jon Fishman to Buddy Rich. On Bass guitar is Donnie's nephew, Kristopher Thurlow; a true gentleman musician. An accomplished guitar player was willing to set the instrument aside to fill the much needed position as Bass player for the band. Kris's influences range from The Black Crowes, Hank Williams III, Johnny Cash and Lemmy from Motorhead.
