Bio
Started up in Waltham by lap steel player Cate O'Connell in 2010, with the core of Peter D'Angelo of Big Barn Burning and Jim Bouchard of Toots Rambles, currently featuring Severin Grossman of The Boom Boom Band and guesting from time to time singer songwriter Annie Jennings, with a blend of roots americana music mix of obscure classics of an original nature.
A little background on the band: Jim Bouchard began making a name for himself many years backon the folk-singer-songwriter scene, eventually forming a roots string band called Toots Rambles with Kris Delmhorst, Ry Cavanaough and Sean Staples. He later retired from the solo scene to concentrate on sideman gigs in various alternative bands like Fire in The Boathouse and Grubstake. Peter D'Angelo was the drummer in alt-americana band Big Barn Burning recording and touring throughout New England. Cate O'Connell has honed the complex world of lap steel playing woodshedding over the years, sitting in with numerous bands.
The Beauty Way is an amalgam sound generally found in the American rock and authentic country musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from folk, country, R’n’B and blues...
A selection of live recordings are available for download at thebeautyway.bandcamp.com, with plans to get in the studio soon.
